Tradewinds, Myrtle Beach

The first thing we noticed when arriving at the Tradewinds Motel was that everything was about 20-30 years older than the pictures on their website had shown. While checking in the manager was not very friendly at all and pretty arrogant. At the time I was with my 2 friends the 3 of us all being about 19 years old an d he treated us as if we were 13 year old punk kids. While walking to the room noticed dead cock roaches outside the door. When entering the room we noticed everything was very old and in terrible shape. The carpets were stained along with the sheets and matresses. Our oven had old decaying chicken wings left stuck to a pan in it the first time we attempted to cook. We were ducking cock roaches atleast 5 times a day. Even had one crawl over my foot while using the facilities. Staying here is how I learned that they could fly haha. Air conditioner wouldnt work and jerk manager wouldnt do anything about it. Manager also threatened to kick us out for "snooping arond" when we were looking for their advertised washing machine that didnt exist. For a few kids out of High School like us just lookin for a place to crash it isnt too unbareable, but if your a family looking for a nice time, I'd deff go elsewhere. O Yeah, Pool was in real good shape, but there was always a funny smell outside around the hotel.

The only thing we didn't like, was there weren't any ice buckets. Other than that, the place was perfect. We had been driving up and down Ocean Blvd. looking for a place to stay, and to get out of the horrendous heat. The rates were very affordable, the room was very neat and clean, the air conditioning was ICE COLD!!! Very clean pool, you could still see the ocean from the motel, and it was only one block from Ocean Blvd., and to the nearest beach access. We had a great time, and will be returning.
