Sea Echo Motel, Myrtle Beach

Our Family loves the Sea Echo. It is a smaller hotel but you feel like you are at home. It is an older hotel but it gets the job done. It is right off the strip but tucked away from all the craziness for our kids. They have picnic tables, grills, a nice little pool. We stay there every year and have never had a problem. This is the best place for your money! See ya next year. My daughter calls it our " Blue Beach House!"

While the Sea Echo is not a Marriot or Delta, I found Billy and his family VERY friendly. I found myself in Myrtle Beach with out accomodations when friends I was going to see had to leave due to an emergency. I walked up and down the streets for hours looking for a place. Billy was outside at 11PM when I walked by and I asked if they had any rooms available. He didn't, but knowing my situation, he offered a room in his place for the night as they had openings the next night. I ended up spending my entire week in MB at the Sea Echo and enjoyed it. Everything worked in the suite, the TV, fridge, and most importantly, the AC. I found the location to be excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Sea Echo to those who are looking for a place to stay on a budget.

Well first of all the motel had cheap rates if that is what you are looking for. Very difficult to sleep on the beds (and i mean all of them). The couch mattress had holes and the springs (what springs) were poking through. The remote didn't work. The kitchen was small and cramped. We didn't like the door and felt that it was not safe (almost didn't get it shut). The owner was nice though. My wife's uncle passed away and he refunded our money with no problem (a plus). The pool was okay and the location was alright but the rooms were really lacking and we will never go back (ever).

It is sad to say but I have stayed at this motel since1991 my buddy Doug and I have stayed there at least 3 times a year for about 2 weeks at a time. At first Bill senior ran the place , it was clean fresh linen ,towels, it a grade A motel. Bill often told us that his rule was no matter when you came here any time of the seaon he had only one price. But that was not the only reason we stayed there. You could not meet nicer people than Bill or Billy or there family, there was not much they could do for you because it was already done ahead of time. I can not say enough good things about the way old Bill ran that motel.Over the the years Billy took over the motel. Things just got worse prices were up and down, the t.v. would not work some rooms no frig, no microwave, shower head was bad the list just goes on and on not to say the cleanest of the motel was never the same after Billy took over. The parking lot always full of junk boats and trailer it was a mess to say the least. Billy would tell us I always give you guys a good rate only to find out the guy below us was paying 8 bucks a night less.The staw brook the camels back last year when he had a lot of trash living there, I suppose you have to do what you have to to stay a float.Billy you are a great guy one of the nices people in that city but you have turn a great motel that your parents have built in to a major dumpster. For one, its not too pricey. Has a great location. And the people are very friendly! If you just need a place to stay for a few days, the Sea Echo is great! Billy knew alot about the area and gave me a good price. It was clean, and the pool was pretty warm. Will stay again!

My husband and I visited Myrtle Beach on April 1-3, 2010. Most motels had locked doors, and didn't answer the phones. All the nice hotes were booked, or $100+ per night. We stayed two nights, at only $38.00 per night. With tax and all, our stay was only $85.00! I liked that everyone was super friendly. We had a clean room, hot water and clean sheets! Our towels were changed daily, and trash too! It was a great place for the price. I saw no bugs, or anything filthy. The rooms are a little outdated, but it was perfect for us, i'm not too prissy, lol. I would def stay again!!

The owner was nice, rooms was good enough to sleep in, location is the best right off the strip and can walk to gas station.. i book there every year for bike wenot in the room that much anyway to talk bad about it and price is good.

This place was EXTREMELY reasonable for a 4th of July weekend and allowed a less than 5 night minimum. Extremely easy to get along with, a quiet, convenient place to stay. It will be my first choice for all future visits. The owner, Billy was very educated and helpful about the local area. Thanks Again Sea Echo!

The Sea Echo Motel is like a tropical oasis tucked just one street away from the ocean. You feel like you have left all your troubles behind and all you have to do is just sit back and enjoy all it has to offer. Billy treats you just like family and once you are there for a few days you feel like you are one of the family. The personal touch and knowing all your guests by name is hard pressed to find anywhere else. the location is great and within walking distance anywhere you want to go- entertainment, restaurants and of course straight to the ocean. the rooms are charming and the grounds are immaculate. a lot of people go on vacation and are stressed to the max - if you come here it's another story. This place is the real Myrtle Beach that some folks will never slow down enough to find or enjoy. Thanks for all you do Billy. Paul and Becky Chatman
