THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS AND LIARS.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/11
Everything about this place is horrendous. Tony and his "brother" or whatever he is are liars, crooks, and they provide terrible service. I would even tell my worst enemy to stay away from this place. The room was never cleaned, that was terribly obvious. Unsophisticated and rude employees, unprofessional, bad maintenance, nothing worked. Notice the last good review was written shortly after the last bad review. It's the employees or Tony himself writing the good reviews so that he can try to save his business from going under. I'll bet you anything there will be a convenient positive review written shortly after this one. Way too expensive for getting nothing but headache in return. Trust me, do not go there. There seem to be much nicer accommodations in the area. I'm disputing all charges, because we were completely ripped off.

A perfect place to stay, very friendly!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/22/11
We had a wonderful time. The room was cute and perfect! It was heated when we arrived. We had no problems with the walls being too thin. The snow was right outside our front door. The children couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. There is a hill perfect for sledding that we had all to ourselves. It was a beautiful and peaceful location. They have free DVDs and boardgames to rent. Tony was very helpful and kind. We went out to dinner one night and when we got back it had snowed so hard we couldn't get our vehicle up the road to our room. It was around 10pm and Tony came down the hill and helped us. He assisted us in putting chains on the tires and actually pushed us up the hill! I don't think we would have made it up with out him. We were blown away by how helpful he was. He could have just laughed at us struggling and let us park far and walk in the cold snow. Not many people would go out of their way to help a tourist. They also personaly shoveled snow in front of every car in the morning and plowed their driveway, which we were very greatful for. The town was awesome and the people are very friendly. They are many great restaurants and shops. We will definitely go back!

Horrible Experience with this Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/27/11
1. The room smelled disgusting when we arrived. An odor mixture of feet, vomit, spoiled food and a dead animal. It was difficult to distinguish what it was. My husband and I finally figured out that it was the comforter, and a previous tenant had either thrown up or spilled food on it which subsequently spoiled, and it was never washed. 2. We were told this was a dog friendly hotel and that it was fine for us to bring our 2 dogs. They had told us our room was completely private and did not share any walls. Well, it's actually located smack dab in the middle of everyone else staying there. The walls are PAPER THIN, and you can hear everything. We got a complaint from our next door neighbors who never seemed to leave their room, that our dog barked non-stop while we were at dinner the 1st night. An exaggeration, our dog would never bark non-stop, but he probably did bark occasionally if they were hanging out outside our window talking. The "carpenter" then told us we should stay with our dogs. We told him we're here for the festival, there's no way we can possibly do that, and this is their fault for putting us in this situation, not ours. Everything else in town was booked, otherwise we would have stayed elsewhere. 3. My husband and I were just talking to each other in the room past midnight, in normal voices, not being loud at all, no music playing, no dog barking, and the neighbors pounded on our wall. Walls are too thin for living conditions. 4. The shower door fell down as I was getting out and almost hit me on the head and killed me. 5. The heater pilot went out and it was completely freezing the 1st night. 6. If you stay for more than one night, they don't clean your room for you or give you fresh towels. For $90 + a night, that's a huge rip off. 7. The carpenter called us from his cell phone after we'd left and checked out and accused me of scratching his car. This is absolutely ridiculous. I would never do such a thing, and even if I wanted to I would have no idea which car is even his. The hotel was booked, there were about 20 + cars parked, I have no idea what he's talking about. Seems they can't handle complaints, so they try to turn it around on the customer. If you have any complaints, expect to be retaliated against.

VERY ENJOYABLE!!!
By Lynn, 5/19/09
We had a great time here!!! We've been a number of times and are always very pleased with the cottages! They are all adorable, clean, and each of them have their own charm and personality. There have been numerous upgrades since the ownership has changed and it looks like each time we come back the place looks nicer and nicer. The new owner really seems to take pride in ownership. It is only a minute or two from town too. We love the bluebird cottages and will continue to come back. Even the conference room has come a long way and it is set up perfect for partys. There is a beautiful deck with a bar and furniture that has a beautiful view. Its a great place and very affordable. We will be back!

OK, but....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/1/08
The walls are very thin and my 80-year old mother and I had to listen to a couple drinking and playing strip poker in the next room for much of the evening. Their TV, which was also on, sounded as if it was in our room. I knocked on their door at 11 pm and asked if they could turn the sound down and a few minutes later heard them mocking me and my request (through the walls), although thankfully, they did quiet down a short time later. Our room itself was pleasant enough although one end of the room where the dresser/desk was located had no lighting at all and was very dark in the evening due to the dark paneling in the room. The refrigerator and microwave were nice additions, but I'd never stay there again because of 1) possible noise issues from adjoining guests, 2) the insistence that we pay a "cleaning fee" because we only stayed Saturday night - even though the place was largely empty in early November when we were there, and 3) the strange experiences we had with the staff/owner/manager. First, when I made the reservation before I left for my trip they never sent me an e-mail confirmation for my reservation as they said they would, then when we checked in he was intially unsure whether they provided an AARP discount and had to do "some checking", and lastly we had some trouble getting a receipt. We did not get a receipt when we checked in, so I assumed I would get one when we checked out in the morning. But when I went to return the key (after 10am on Sunday morning) the owner/manager wouldn't answer the office door -there was only a box for the key drop. I drove down the street to a coffee shop and called him on my cell phone - he answered immediately and said he'd have a receipt ready when I stopped back in 5 minutes...he was not mean or rude at all, but he just didn't seem like a natural for running a popular mountain inn.

Very relaxing
By Marybeth, 9/30/06
Sometimes very busy. The walls that seperate the rooms are sometimes very thin and you can hera alot. I go when I can, during the week when it is very quiet...It is set in a wooded area. All cabins are like a small wooden cabins with real wood burning fireplces, new bathrooms. No hot tub or pool. Close to the center of town. Have been going there for 15 years.
