What I loved:The family that own the hotel is lovely. They take good care of you. They used their family car to take us and pick us up from Coachella. They waited for us. We were well taken care of.
What I did not like as much: If we had paid the $70.00 normal rate, I would have said this hotel was good for the price you pay. However I paid nearly $300.00 a night and when I asked for a late check out which is normal in the hotel business, I was charged an extra: $89.00 for five extra hours which I found excessive. I have been traveling all over the world for over twenty years and can tell you that I have never paid this much for late check out. Most hotels just allow you to do stay so you come back again next time. This charge was really abusive as I had my sixteen year old with me and it was over 110 degrees outside. BTW, every time they took us to Coachella they charged $10.00 per person each way.
The service was satisfyingly remarkable, they would give wake-up calls in the morning. You definitely get a good night's sleep and oh it's very quiet. All the rooms were incredibly clean, one day I was checking on the maid and I found out that the managers clean the rooms themselves. They vacuum and and wipe all furniture with scents and clean the bathrooms nicely.
The room was smug, had an air-conditioner, and was remotely comfy. There was a desk where I did my writing and reading and the plasma TV's had HDTV quality.
The location was basically convenient because it comes right after you exit the I-10 freeway at Golf Center Parkway to the right. It was the very first Motel I saw.
However, the prices have now gone up as the minimum wage for labour has increasingly gone up within the past few years. The price now in 2007 is $60.00 + tax. But I say the rooms are really worth it.
