My husband and I vistied the Sandy Beach Resort for our wedding anniversary and my 30th birthday, and our hotel stay was wonderful. The hotel is a newer high rise hotel and I though it was very beautiful. It looks like something you would see on Miami Beach or somewhere in Los Angeles, CA. All the staff was very friendly and professional. We stayed in the King Deluxe Suite in the Palmetto building. I thought the room was perfect. Our king sized bed was very comfortable, the sheets were cotton white with no stains, and the comforter felt like it had feathers and it was very comfortable. Our bathroom was roomy with ceremic tile floors, with clean white towels, and mini shampoos and soaps. The bathtub was big and it was also a hot tub when you turned the jets on. The kitchen was spotless and it included a dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. They also provide you with dish soap and bars for the dishwasher. The living room area was nice and it also had a pull down bed, so we were able to sleep in the living room also and look right out at the beach at night. I also loved the balcony. It was a good size balcony and it was kind of a dome shaped. The room also had a washer/dryer set and thats very convenient when you can wash your clothes in your own room and not have to run to find a laundry facility.
The only thing that I didn't like was that we had to park across the street and we had to walk about 1/4 a mile everytime back and forth from the hotel to our parking spot. Also, they didn't give you the small coffee packs where you can make your own coffee in your room. But, overall the hotel is wonderful and very clean. The interior lobby area is very modern and you will love it. I would definetly recommend a friend & family to stay here. I will look forward to my next trip to MB and I hope to stay here again.
We Started out staying at bermuda sands and moved to The Sandy Beach Resort. The rooms were very clean as were their pools and hot tubs. We had a wonderful view. The service was amazing as was their prices. I know we will be back time and time again. Parking was not bad maybe afew mins. walk but it is myrtle beach on the fourth of july. The Family Kingdom Wasterpark and rides are right next door so you dont have to pay to park to vsit either one.
I loved this hotel. We stayed here spring break 2010. Everything is in bran new condition. We stayed in the Palmeto angle room the views are great. The service was fantasic. There are three pools two outdoors one indoors. Three hottubs all of them sparkling clean. The cost was the most inexpensive price I have ever paid for such a clean, relaxing and courteous hotel stay. We will be back, thank you Sandy beach resorts!!!
My family and extended family has stayed at this resort for more than twenty years(even back when it was the Longview). We have never been disappointed in the rooms or staff in any way. You will not find a better place at a comparable price, which I may add is much lower than what you would expect if you compared this place to others in the area. I have stayed at others and have kicked myself for doing so. Definitely 5 stars.
The SHEETS WEREN'T CRISP AND THEY WERE TORN, VERY POOR LIGHTING. I HAD TO GO OUT AND PURCHASE AIR FRESHNER, DUE TO ODOR IN ROOM. THE FURNITURE IN THE ROOM WASN'T WORTH THE MONEY PAID. THE DOOR HANDLE ON ROOM# 215 BROKE FROM THE INSIDE, AND WE TOLD THE FRONT DESK EARLY THAT MORNING AND NO ONE NEVER CAME TO FIX IT. THIS IS MY FIRST AND MY LAST VISIT WITH SANDY BEACH RESORT. I DO NOT ENCOURGE NO ONE TO STAY HERE............. THE PLACE DOESN'T DESERVE "NO" STARS....
Frequent MB visitor, first and last time at Sandy Beach Resort. We had a 2 bedroom suite with two balconies. One balcony door was broken...we never got out there. Even though we were in the new section Bedrooms and Living area very DIRTY, broken lamps, stained walls, no hangers, no ironing boards ect. Asked maid two days in a row for hangers and extra pillows...nothing. Called front desk about hangers...nothing. Dishwasher didn't work. Jacuzzi tub dangerously high to get in and out of safely. Parking is across a very busy street and quite a walk if first two lots full. Maid banged on our door first thing every morning-I told her we sleep late but since we were lowest number room on her floor she started with us every morning. Most days we didn't get housekeeping service, just clean towels.
STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
I had NEVER been to Myrtle Beach before (8.5hr drive!) But what a surprise! It was late March, 2008 during my Daughter's Easter break. Even though we stayed in the Magnolia Tower (which is the older section) I was very impressed with everything! The rooms were clean and I was impressed with the rest of the facilities. These units are really condos and NOT hotel-sized rooms. The oceanfront 1br we stayed at had a balcony with an incredible view. We had such an overall great time we are going back in 2009 during Easter break and we are taking other family members!! Even in late March, there was an outdoor pool open and heated! Sandy Beach Resort is centrally located to most area attractions and there is an amusement park across the street. I recommend this place highly! Maybe one down side-you have to park your car around the corner in a satellite lot. No big deal.
I just got back from Sandy Beach last weekend and it was a really nice place. The weather was beautiful and the rooms were awesome! They were clean and comfortable in every way. My wife loved the decor and the comfortable beds we slept in. It is def one of the places to stay in MB!!!!!
We recently held our company meeting at Sandy Beach and everyone in our group was delighted with the accommodations. Not only were the rooms spacious and comfortable; all the amenities you could possible need were present for a comfortable stay. The staff was very accommodating of our special meeting requests and needs. And the location couldn't be more convenient to all the Grand Strand offers.
Four cockroaches in the room, the walls were beige color so you could not see the crap that was on the walls until you settle in and start looking at the walls, then you can see all the crap that is glued on the walls.
