Golden Villa Motel, Myrtle Beach

My husband and I were in Columbia, SC for a baseball tournament and decided to come to the beach when it was over. We did not have reservations, but my cousin and aunts had stayed here for years in the past. We have been visiting the motel for over 20 yrs. but never stayed there. It is in an excellant location, still the "old" style mom and pops motel, getting more rare everyday in Myrtle Beach. It was sad to stay because of several of my family members having recently passed away since my last visit to Myrtle Beach, but I felt safe and at home there. I do not like the upper scale motel and hotels, they are impersonal, not conveinent for parking or access to your room. Please do not sell out to some stupid ferris wheel....keep the original family motel alive!!! It was sad knowing it was the last time to ever stay there or see it ever again. Don't leave, it's never too late to turn back!!!

Every year for the past four years. We have been going to this motel to stay at, usually twice a summer and of course we love it. We don't need a high paying fancy room for the beach. This is a GREAT location for an awsome price. I love the staff, they have gotten to know my family well and show kindness and love towards my father who recently passed away. I hope they don't close down this year, this is one tradition my family has ever really kept, going to the beach an staying at "our spot". It's very family oriented, ran by a sweet family, who I'll miss if they do decide to close down this sept :(. So more about the room, your right there in the heart of it all, u have somewhere to sleep, use the bathroom, take a shower, and wake up to a beautiful view all with bein able to save more for the vacay itself. I reccomend this place to everyone I know. It's just nice to be able to afford a vacation for my family and I without having to stay in the ghetto and walking a block or two for a higher price. The only good things about this hotel is location and price. First off the room is out of date, under the matresses were nasty and there were roaches. At first when we checked in the man behind the counter was very nice. Then we had a run in with one of the workers, very rude and alot of attitude. I could not believe that anyone would treat someone like that worker did. There was a woman behind the counter and she was polite and gave us our money back when we ask. I would never stay there again and I would never recommend anyone under any circumstances to stay there.

My family and I have been staying here for years now. When my husband and I first met, we took off to the beach for a week; we stayed here and we both loved it! Great price, nice rooms, good service. We have had 2 kids since then (7 yrs now)--and every time we go to Myrtle Beach--we call to make reservations in this hotel. CANNOT BE BEAT FOR THE PRICE & THE VALUE!!!

My sister and i stayed here last year and we loved it!! I am making plans for this years trip right now..I love how we were right next to everything. We were only 6 mins from broadway on the beach also and a cab there was only 6 bucks. We love you golden villa!!

I loved this hotel because its a step away from the beach, and every store on the strip. I even met Wee-man from jack ass the movie right ACROSS FROM THIS HOTEL...i loved the service and its laid back place, i advise anyone who loves laid back places and just chill time, to stay here. Its amazing, the prices are great. :))

Lets put it like this...if i had three hands...all three thumbs would be "up" You guys did a great job and i would recommend it to anyone. Price is great, location is even better!

Let me start off by saying this Motel is located in a great area close to just about everything but me and wife stayed there the weekend over Valintines Day and we found several things we didnt like first of all the hot water ran out on me while I was taking a shower and then my wife had to wait 30 min. for the hot water to build up! then our sheets was dirty with stains on them,the towels looked like towels you would wash your car with the furniture had spider webs on them and it was so outdated the chairs in the room looked like they had been in a flood! the room was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for!! I probably will never stay at this Motel again!!!!

Me and 3 of my friends rented a room here in June (2008). It was cheap and it was right on the beach! We loved it! It was right in the middle of the strip. Close to all kinds of shops. Walking distance to a great breakfast place. Overall it was just a great little hotel. You definitely can't beat it for the price. I would recommend this to anyone. Actually my friend's sister just booked her room there for next weekend.
