Remodeled close to beach fun for all. You should stay sometime when visiting San Diego.

A wonderful man, he will be missed!
By ,
The funny old character who ran this place has sadly passed away. He was a gracious host and though eccentric, was the genuine article. Richard Edward Finnegan Michaels, you were loved and you will be missed! RIP with love from "Randy and Ty Babylonia"

good value in san diego
By ,
i needed to be in San Diego on business for 2 months and needed to keep expenses down. The Trade Winds is being re-furbished and i rented one of the newly re-done rooms. The price was the best I found in PB or the Mission Valley/hotel circle area. I walked across the street to Mission Bay golf course and jogged at the bay. San Diego's best rated sushi is also 3 blocks away. I only had a 10 minute commute to downtown. Overall a good value.

Awesome experience
By ,
I had fantastic stay at the trade winds motel. First you must be one that loves history, But to actually find a motel that is run by the owner for over 50 years is rare. He also lives on the property and is very selective on who can stay. The room I stayed in while my house was being built, has been rented to lucy Ball and Desi while filming the Long Long Trailer, as well as countless other celeberties over the years. This was the first motel in Pacific Beach, back when only a dirt road existed.Yes it is a old motel, but run with the kindness of one oldman that truely loves his life ,his motel and is kind to a fault.
