My wife and I stayed at this park last night on April 17, 2011 for 29.70 cash. When we entered the office we were greeted by a large barking dog and the whole time the dog growled at me and my wife. This made us very uncomfortable. We drove to our site, which we had to find on our own. No directions given. We hooked our camper up and decided to let our small dachshund visit the pet run. The web site showed pictures of the pet run that was grassy but to our surprise there was only one patch of grass and the rest was dirt and stickers. The pictures on this web site for the Eagles nest rv park show grassy tent areas, pet run etc. but we could not find much grass anywhere in this park. The trees and bushes looked like they haven't been watered in a while. There were an abundance of dead trees and bushes through out the park. In the bathrooms there was no soap in the dispensers and the bathrooms were not clean. We decided to do a load of laundry while we were here. There was mud all over the floor in the laundry room and there was tree debris inside and outside of the washers. The wi-fi would not stay on. I went to the office and was given some hum drum excuse about the wi-fi. Nothing was done about it and we had no internet for our stay. I talked to the campers beside us and they were having problems as well. There was only 6 channels for the so called cable which were the local stations from El Paso, Texas. We will not be staying here again. It's not worth the money. We could haved stay at the rest area right outside of town and had more than what was offered at this park. No receipt was given and we paid cash
We stayed in the Eagle's Nest for a week and found the facilities excellent. There are new managers who keep grounds, bathroom, and laundry facilities very clean and supplied. There are trees for shade and everything else is working just fine. Free WIFI and limited TV channels. They have free bikes to check out if you don't have a car to get around. We recommend this park without reserve.
The location is great and we travel this way each fall and spring.
We have stayed here before w/o problems, but this time - Oct 2008 - many sites had yellow bags over the electric hookups. On the 7th try we found electric working. We periodically watched the electric gauge and it jumped from 125 (very good) to 110 - (Not good). It was cool so had no need of AC. We have never seen anyone working in the office, but leave our envelope with $$ in the slot provided. Cost is now up to $25/night and they take PPA. We hope someone will take over this campground who cares as the location is ideal, Large lots and quiet. Oh, the stickers have taken over the park as well. Haven't seen them this bad in years. We did not check out shower/laundry facilities.
