This is the best place ever!!!`
By Billy, 08/02/09
The people are nice at the desk and all over the park I love the owners they were so nice to my brother him and his wife had a wedding and the went there for their honeymoon type deal and my mom paid for it and they got the best room of all of them and the best part is they were so nice about it and i came to see what the rooms looked like and they were magnificent the cottages are so cute. Then I went inside the office to turn in their key and they offered me muffins and rolls and they had coffee overall its the best motel ever. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone I know

Untruthful Reviews
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/09
I stay at Carters offen (since 2007). The Carters Motel people are the nicest you find, they are the "salt of the earth" kind of people. They keep a very clean place, and I mean a VERY CLEAN place. I have had to cancel my stay at least three times. They hold my deposit for my next stay, or like on my first attempted stay, when I asked for my money back, Mrs. (Owner) sent me a check. They didn't baulk at all. They have never misstreated me or my family. I can't see how they could ever get a bad review. As a side note, they do kick out people who smoke in thier non-smoking rooms without a refund. Can't imagine that proves a good nights sleep I wonder if that could be the reason. Hmmmm........

The bed smells
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/09
Today is my last day here, and i am looking forward to leaving. The people in the office are nice at first, but after you pay, they change, and act like they are just tolerating you. I have been here 6 days, and am quite ready too leave. The rooms all have these tile floors that are wet every morning...from dew i guess, and become quite slippery. (Great place for a slip and fall law-suit). The Coffee and Biscuits look ok, but are made in a kitchen with dogs running loose, old ladies with runny noses, and some old shirtless man fumbling around. The tenants in the park section are rude to the guests, and seems like drinking alcohol is the thing to do there. Today is the first day since i have been here that i have been able too use the wireless internet, as it has been down the whole time. (comes on, goes back off)....i guess the price is cheap, and you get what you pay for...cheap...by the way...the bed in my room smells a little like pee...

Good People
By Bill, 10/08/08
I've stayed here off and on since getting my 1st Temp job with the National Park Service at Canaveral National Seashore, back in 2005. I found the owners and staff to be very pleasant people, who will do just about anything to make your stay pleasant. I've now worked at the Park 4 different times, and have stayed at Carter's all 4 times. I wouldn't think of going to another motel in the area, mainly because of the way I've been treated by these fine folks. Haven't been able to enjoy the saltwater pool any of the times there, but that's only because I'm so tired after getting back from work, I usually just take a shower, eat dinner, and pass out in the comfortable beds they have. If you're going to be in the area for any length of time, they also have nice little bungelows they rent out on a monthly basis. Well worth the money. I'm hoping to go back to the Park this coming Nov, and I know where I'll be staying!!! God Bless you Mike n Pam. Keep up the great work you're doing, Bill

would not recomend it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/08/08
The old man in the office has a awful attitude, (smiles in your face and then flips you the finger when you turn your back), and treats females (guests) with total disrespect. The wireless connection is way over-used and choked up (it hardly works) The rooms smell strong of disinfectant which i guess is necessary. there are bugs. the office workers dogs run loose around the place. All in all, not a good place...but what do you expect for 50 dollars? a best western? The rooms are right beside a highway, and you constantly get woke up by police and fire truck sirens.

BEST PLACE EVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/07
I always stay there. I can't belive the few bad reviews, this place is like home, with the most friendly helpful and kind owners and staff. yes, it looks like a 1950's motel but that is the charm. This place is spotless. I travel quite a bit, and stay in big fancy hotels that are no where as clean as this place. Don't listen to the couple of people who probaly deserved what happen to them. if it really did?

truly the best motel experience we've ever had...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/07
When I first pulled in, I was doubtful about staying here, but boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. It really was like staying with family as was stated by someone above. This Mom and Pop ran business made me feel so at home. They went out of their way to make me and my grandchildren feel so welcome. The comment from the folks above about the non-refundable deposit and rude owners is absolutely a misjudgement about these kind folks. The room was very clean, the complimentary breakfast was so delicious that I asked for the recipe, and the laundry facilities on the premises was very convenient. I arranged my entire travel plans for October to stay here instead. I highly recommend this motel if you desire home away from home comfort. Wende Nabors, Grand Saline Texas

GREAT PLACE, EXTREMELY FAST WIFI
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/06
This is a great motel. An American family ownes & runs it. Very, and I mean VERY, CLEAN !!! I stay all accorss the U.S., and these people run the tightest ship I have ever seen. The service is impeccable, the staff is friendly, the pool is very nice, salt water (to cold to swim today), the beds are the best I have ever slept on (Beautyrest, I check). These folks serve home made breakfast each morning. They even gave us a late check out (12:30 pm!). NOW THEY HAVE INSTALLED A BLAZING FAST WIFI SYSTEM !! Simply the best small motel ever. Give'm a try you'll be happy for sure. T.S. Tulsa
