The Pink Nightmare! During a recent stay to Port Aransas, we decided to stay at the Port Aransas Inn. I chose to cut the trip short one day due to the approaching tropical storm Alex. I asked for a refund on the remaining day… no such generosity here. There goes a $100+ down the tubes! Something else you won’t find here, maid service. We had to look for a dumpster to empty our trash ourselves. Don’t expect fresh towels either. We used the same towels for the entire trip, and when you’re visiting the coast you can shower up to 2-3 times a day! I suppose I could have asked the manager for fresh towels, but for a four star price you figure that would be included. I suggest doing a little research. We chose this location because it seemed close to the beach, but don’t let distance keep you from booking a quality establishment. We still had to load up the car with beach gear (coolers, chairs, towels, food, etc.) and drive down to the beach. You can purchase a parking pass for $12 that is good for a year. Our friends stayed at the Sand Castle and they loved it. It’s located on the beach, has a great pool and pretty decent rooms for just a few more bucks a night. Good lesson learned for me, and now I know where not to stay!
