So Glad we went Back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/2/11
This was our second visit. This time we stayed in the cottage. As before the property was spotless. You never get a second chance to make a first impresion, it was so clean. Everthing we needed was there for us. The location was the best. When needed the maintanance staff were very helpful and polite. Well recomended. Ken and Chris. London.

Well traveled group rates this place high
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/11
Six well traveled mature adults rented two of the residences at Granger House for 1 month. This home has everything you need and more. So much character which starts at the driveway and continues to the ocean front views. House is clean, conviently located, and has views of the sunset that compete with Key West! We treated this home with respect and we received it back 100 fold. The maintenance folks could not have been more responsive. Most of our problems were user related and they educated us, made us feel importamt to them and were responsive to our every need. Linens were hotel quality. Clearly the owners and maintence have done everything to make our stay one to remember.

You get what you pay for!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/11
Location is great. House is terribly unstocked for arrival. No dish soap, no sponges, limited utensils, broken dishwasher and some questionable bedding. There was a sewage odor that permeated throughout the cottage during our time there, mainly when the house was closed up. Once we opened the doors it seemed to disappear, only to return once the house was closed up again. Hot tubs are "drain and fill," only you are not told that. No chlorine, no shock treatment, anything. Some really rude dude showed up at 10:30 in the morning and said he was there to check the hot tubs, although he only opened one. I've had hot tubs for years and he didn't check a thing. Didn't check the water, clean anything or do anything but bring an attitude. He was all kind of pissed off because we had put some chlorine in the tub and claimed we pulled off a cushion which was not the case. He didn't do anything to clean the tubs - figure he was just there to check on us on New Year's Day. Understand, but he could have knocked before he showed up and basically walked in on us. House is heavily worn but the price is good and the location can not be beat. Nice deck area, plenty of beach chairs and a nice BBQ area. Would not stay again, but always remember "you get what you pay for." A pool is being built and that will add some attraction to the place. Shop around!!!!

Far better than luxury condo
By The Diva, 11/7/08
This meticulously maintained house showed that is was not a youngster, but so what? I've stayed in more luxurious accommodations, but never any that could boast the charm, warmth, and absolute perfect location of Granger House. We were in Unit 1 and my mother, who is wracked with arthritis, had only two steps to climb. Everything was all on one floor, and the unit was lovely. Furnished with loving touches, it was very homey. The owners responded immediately to any needs we had at all -- service I would never have gotton at a high rise condo. But the crowning grace was the location. Nothing like opening a door onto your own private deck, which is right on the beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Very glad we came here.

Perfect private getaway!
By Felicia, 8/18/06
If you are looking for a big luxury condo with a crowd of people at the pool, this is not the place for you. If you want complete privacy in a romantic setting with old-Florida style charm, this is where you want to be. We stayed at unit #7, the Pink Rose. Although we were a little disappointed when we arrived to find that this unit only had a limited ocean view due to a condo between this property and the beach (it is only a few steps to the beach by the way), we quickly fell in love with the place. With our two year old daughter, we were worried that she would disturb neighbors, but we had the whole place to ourselves! There is only one other unit on the property and it was vacant, but if it had been occupied, only the second floor opened up on an adjacent deck, and I don't think we could have disturbed anyone (I also toured this unit and it is a really neat two-story unit. I plan on my parents staying in this one on the next visit). Our unit was absolutely huge, with a king size bedroom, a full kitchen and very large bathroom. I cannot say enough about how clean it was, which was a worry for me with a two-year old. It has it's own hot tub right on the deck outside of the door. The heated pool was really great too, and the whole property is well landscaped with a great tropical feel. When we asked if we could get a DVD player for my daughter's movies, it was waiting for us on the porch when we came back from the beach that afternoon. I can't say enough about how happy we were with this vacation and we are already planning to return next year. We also looked at the units at the Granger House four buildings south and it was really nice and right on the beach, but there is no pool on that property, so we opted for the Pink Rose. We have stayed at other places at Indian Rocks Beach and St. Pete over the last few years, but from now on we will definitely return to unit #7 at the Granger House. You can't beat the size of the unit, the privacy, and the fact that you have your own private hot tub right outside of your door!

Not what I expected...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/06
After spending 7 hours in the car I was looking forward to a little R&R. This was not the picture I had been painted. The 1 bedroom was rather tiny and you had to climb a squeaky spiral staircase to get to the kitchen which featured a small captain's fridge. The bed was soft, the view consisted of a future development being built between our window and the beach. The private beach access seemed quite public to me. We left after one night.

MOST ROMANTIC Florida Getaway!!
By yvonne s, 4/13/06
My husband and I live in Orlando, and love to get away for birthdays and anniversaries, we have been to about 20 different beachfront hotels, b & b's, and cottages--and the Granger House is unparrallelled in it's romance. Do ask for the direct gulf-front Garden Suite with magnificient views, just 10 steps to the ocean. It's a beautiful one-bedroom, full-kitchen upper cottage with french doors stepping out onto a 20' deck with a hot tub. We enjoy sipping champaign in the spa as the sun goes down. It is high enough off the beach to feel privacy. Upon arrival, you'll find a bottle of wine. Two buildings over, you can enjoy their pool. There's a bbq on the property with picnic table which makes for a great sundown picnic. For the whole effect, dine on the bayside deck at one of the TOP restaurants in Florida--the Salt Rock Grill. You will have the most romantic florida vacation of your life, with many of casual to upscale options.
