love this place,
I don't know how these other people vacation that are writing these reveiws, but it does'nt sound like their doing it right!
If you want the PLAZA go to the PLAZA and stop bitching about a nice place that you can just relax and enjoy the beach.
My husband and I spent our 24th anniversary at the Schooner and we are planning on coming back next year too.
We had a great time, not much time spent in the room, but that's not why we were there."For the most part."
The best time to enjoy this place is at about midnight, you go out on the patio and just listen to the waves and feel the breeze!! AAHHHH!!!
it was like a Corona commercial.
If your there for beach bod's you are out of luck, because it's very family freindly.
We only live 40 miles away and if we just need a break from it all, we can just jump in the car and be on the beach in 45 min.
I think the only problem we had with this motel was the public parking lot next door, which they can't do anything about.
to wrap it up, I give the Schooner Motel a big thumbs up and we will keep coming back as long as they are there!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks again to the staff and we will see you next year, or sooner, who knows.
We were told that we would have a private patio, that was a joke it was in the center of the compound(everyone had a birds eye view) and we had to share it with another room not to mention that the room above us also had to use the stairs that were on our private patio. It also said it overlooked the pool, we had beach balls being thrown onto our patio. Needless to say it was not at all private as promised. The room was supposed to sleep 5-6 people all I can say is we thought it crowded with 3 people, not to mention the bugs that were found in one of the beds. (we think they were flying ants or termites not sure)The only thing that made this trip tolerable was the company definatly not the accomadations.
we loved how it's right on the beach! dolphins every morning! no, its NOT the hilton , but thats not what we want! we want relaxation and animal friendly...which makes all the other patrons very friendly!goin' back next year for a month!!!!
When we walked into the lobby to check in, it was very pleasant, but once we got into the hotel room; There were ants everywhere and when you took a shower it would flood out the whole bathroom and part of the hotel room by the beds. We just decided not to return to the hotel.
