Beachwood Motel On the Ocean, Fort Pierce

The room that we had on the ground floor in the corner was the most disgusting room that we have ever stayed in! Very old and outdated! There is probably toxic mold under the badly water damaged and warped wood paneling on the walls. The floor was filthy, with rat droppings under the bed. There was years of accumulated dirt under the couch cushions. The refrigerator was ancient, rusted and wobbly. The kitchen cabinets were warped from moisture and the doors wouldn't close. The windows were so dirty we could hardly see out of them. We have seen better furniture in the dump. It was cold and no heater so we had to turn the oven on for warmth. In order to use the old AC high up in the wall you would have to stand on the bed to reach the controls. I wouldn't recommend this motel to anybody!

very laid back and quite. small oceanfront motel with beautiful sunrises, walking distance to two restaurants and large fishing pier. it reminds you of how florida was before everything became fully developed. hope it never changes. will be back.

My wife and I stayed here a while ago. We had a marvelous time. Day/night fishing on the beach. The folks running the place were cordial. The best part of our stay was sitting and watching the sunrise..mmm-mmm-mmm. The first time we stayed, we sat with coffe watching the sunrise, then boogalooded to Sarasota to catch the sunset. It's a must do.

The third floor balcony is awesome. I enjoy sitting out there to watch the sun come up. We have stayed here for a few days on all three trips to Florida. The place needs some remodeling but probably will not happen. We had a full size range & refrigerator, but not a coffee pot. Previously a Circle K was across the street, but a hurricane destroyed it. If you want a squeaky clean & modern room, this is not the place for you. I like the old fellow & his wife that own the place. A previous poster mentioned he had an attitude. I do not doubt that at all. He prefers to rent to couples and small families. The big party people cause damages and he can not deal with that. This place will probably be torn down when the present owners have to sell it.

I am so upset with the ownership and employment of this Motel. I tried to bring business to this Beachwood Motel by sending their hotel information to my guests in my wedding invitations. Then a week before the event the Minister's wife called to tell me that the gentleman who answers the phone for this motel gave her an attitude and said he wants nothing to do with the wedding and denied them a room. So I called the motel myself to see what exactly is going on. A man answered. I said "Hello. I have a question for you?" He sounded disgusted with me and sounded completely out of it (like intoxicated or drugs.. something wasn't right). So I then said, "sir are you ok?" he replied "Just was talkin to the owner SHE was discussing some issue". "Oh ok, I want to know why you denied one of my guests to my wedding a room?" He said "we're not allowing the weeding party to stay at our hotel, too many people and the wedding and receptions is on the beach and that always seems to cause a problem." so then i mentioned "Only four of my guests have booked a room at your place. the wedding isn't anywhere near your hotel and the reception location is over the bridge off the island. So sir, you need to know the facts before you turn away good paying customers." then he said, "Well its never good to have wedding party stay here cause the always want to room hop and make a mess' "Excuse me??" i said. "My guest are mostly older respectable people, how dare you say that and creat bad business". He said " i don't care we're not accepting any guest from the wedding so you can find some place else!" At that point i asked to speak to the owner and he claimed he was the owner. i said "no your not, you just mentioned you were speaking to the owner before i called and that it was a female, so let me speak to her." He told me it seven o'clock and he needs to go. And just like that he hung up on me! Are you kidding me?? never in my life have I ever dealt with such poor business! I cannot believe a hotel manager, owner or any business man would ever think about speaking to a possible customer that way! I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. What goes around comes around and I am a strong believer in that. I cant imagine this place staying in business much longer.
