Eastward Inn LLC, Fort Lauderdale

We had reserved a room over the internet. We needed at minimum of 1 bdrm, 2 would have been better. The rate was very inexpensive..downright cheap at $70 but when we arrived, the rooms that were shown smelled of moisture and mold and insecticide #9. The second room shown also had problems. the kitchen rear door was a shattered and splintered plywood and actually had a bush from outside growing through the cracks of the door. The outside areas around the pool were not kept up and shrubbery was overgrowing the walk path. Plaster was peeling in rooms and the office which also smelled of mildew. The hotel management tried to be accommodating by offering a room at another motel they owned down the street but the 1 bdrm unit had the bathroom in the bedroom and was not convenient for all adults to use in the night. We declined the offer and another offer was made for the Holiday Inn which the owner of these 2 units also appeared to own.

We had a nice time there. It's not fancy, but it had every thing we needed. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The support people were helpful. We wanted a comfortable place to stay at a good value. We wanted to spend our dollars on other things. I am disappointed to hear of the bad reviews. We have stayed there two previous times and plan to visit again for a mini-vacation this next Wednesday. Again, low maintenance lodging for low maintenance people at a good value.
