I read some of these reviews before my stay. This place is no "Classy" hotel. It's an absolute dump. Bugs in the bathroom, no toliet paper. Sliding glass door wall was almost impossible to open. The room had ONE towel no wash cloth and the smallest bar of soap I've ever seen. Could use new bedding, I was afraid to even sit on the bed. The most disgusting place I've ever had the pleasure of leaving.
the customer service is very poor at this hotel. the night person is really rude and does not need to be working with any guest or anybody for this matter. i will never stay at this hotel and would never recommend to anybody, not even my worse enemy.
Other than the price and big room size, there was nothing to like about this place. It seems the owner is simply trying to get as much money out of the place as possible before the whole building collapses on itself. Here is our experience during a four night stay:
* I had reserved a room with kitchenette on the phone. Before arriving I checked back with the inn about the status of my reservation, only to find that the kitchenette option had never been entered.
* The heat blower in the room wasn't very effective. The thermostat was broken.
* The kitchenette was a shock. The stove trays were very dirty. And there were no utensils ! Upon request, they gave us a bare minimum set of some old utensils the next day. But no dish-washing soap or scrubber ! When I asked the manager how he expected us to clean the utensils without soap, he said that was our responsibility and pointed us to a store nearby.
* There was uncleaned dust on the top edge of the bed. You could collect it by swiping a finger.
* The handle for pushing the drapes was broken. We had to struggle to pull the drapes together.
* The chain for the locking pin for the sliding door to the patio was broken. We were surprised why such simple things couldn't be fixed.
* The TV screen was hazy at times. The flush for the toilet bowel needed maintenance.
Judge for yourself if you can put up with such a place. Pay a little more money elsewhere, but don't stay at Whitehouse.
The rates are good but here you don't get what you pay for, you get FAR less. This place gave me the creeps -- I have never stayed in a hotel that has been so poorly maintained. It needs a complete overhaul.
Stayed for 1 week. Blanket & spread were full of holes. Slept on top of the covers. Floor was filty. Lived out of my suitcase for the week. Was afraid to take clothes out due to cockroaches. When I complained they offered to upgrade my room for an additional $34.95 a night. Bathroom was dirty and rusty. Even tried to book another hotel & lose the money but there were no vacancies in the area. Staff was pleasant and the view incredible, but that's it.
Staying here makes me appreciate what an excellent value MOTEL 6 really is! Everything I've ever taken for granted at Motel 6 is totally lacking or missing here. TOO BAD, I stayed at the White House Inn.
i must say, i cannot possible see why anyone could leave a neg feedback, i was just at the whitehouse inn for my 1st time, and loved the place! super clean! Lovely rooms! Hey this is a five star motel. You cannot get a room way under 100 dollars and be on the ocean, with free wi fi, and cable tv, along with tons of other ameneties that are not mentioned! no place like it! those looking to save, and stay in a nice clean place! The whitehouse is the place! those looking for a five star hotel, and looking to spend 300 dollar or more a night then i recommend the lowes. make up your mind! But this place is the best!
I did not like , the rust on swimming pool ,
and the guy at the reception , needs to refresh a bit his english !
anyway .... these inconvenients are nothing compare with the magnificent view ... but ...... the mosquitos are starving here , buy a good repellent ! !
, I highly recommend The WhiteHouse Inn. despite the false slanderous remarks. The Whitehouse Inn has been written up in the New Times, numerous times for being one the best rated Hotels around for those on a BUDGET!! Not to mention you get a nice room, but the view is what sells.
I have been to Miami 6 times now, the last couple times I have stayed at the WhiteHouse Inn. Id like to share the front desk was very friendly and checked us in early morning when check in was not until 3pm. They waved the early check in fee. Usually in these Motel/Hotel places their is no room service. I must say every time we called down to the front desk they always sent some one ASAP, if it was for towels, cups, coffee etc.. I have stayed at a lot of motels in my life, and this place is like the Hilton compared to the other places, and half the price with Bay front view, and all rooms have your own personal patio that allows you to breath in the fresh air and feel the ocean mist. Also a very nice location with lots to do with in walking distance! Very safe area! This place is the best I could stay their all year round. I will be back soon!!!
I would like to say once again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE!
