I am currently staying at Shamrock Corp Housing and have been here a month on a business relocation. This place is severely overpriced for the area. There are several furnished apartment complexs, condos, and even homes that are much cheaper. The facilities are showing years of wear and lack of maintenance. My apartment has a laundry list of issues and I have found no one on the staff who is interesting in correcting the problems, some of which are safety issues such as; faulty electrical outlets, broken lamp switches, a cracked clothes iron, a short in the oven light, and faulty light switches. The outside lighting only works sometimes so you may be traversing stairwells in the dark. The mattress on the bed is old and worn with a huge dip in the middle. The carpet is old, dirty, and threadbare. If you walk around in socks they will be black on the bottom very quickly. There is no TV in the living room. The tv's in the bedrooms are 19 inch tube type tv's. The business center consists of two old desktop computers in the lobby so there is no privacy. The fitness center consists of one treadmill, one stationary bike, and one eliptical machine, all in a very tiny space. The pool is very small. The kids play in the streets since there is no play area for them. The kitchen is so sparsly equipped you will not be cooking meals in your apartment. With very little effort you can do much better for the money in this area. I will be adding an update later with pictures.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pictures are quite representative. Clean and airy, with personal touches included. One minor drawback was that the wireless internet went in and out a lot. There is an ethernet port provided that alleviates this issue, but it tethers you to one small location. My 7-year-old niece would have liked a pool. My mother-in-law thought the basement garage was a bit spooky, but it is adequately lit. Would definitely stay there again.
Stayed 10 days.Good location, walked to Miracle Mile, grocery and drug stores. But stay away from the other side.Dadeland Mall 10 min drive, Beaches and airport 15 min.I had the 2 bedroom, one full size and 2 twin beds. I would have preferred bigger beds but no big deal.LOVED the washer and dryer and full kitchen, but no baking pans.Dirty under the couch cushions.Nice balcony for smokers, but not a very nice view except at night(ROOM 503).Parking spaces are tiny, only one internet connection in main bedroom but 2 computers on the second floor and small gym.Management was helpful in everything we asked.
The apartmnets are large and nicely equipped and accomodated my family of 5 very comfortably. Nicely equipped with full kitchen and washer/dryer big plus. Nice modern building, on site security, gym now avilable after hours and 24 hour telephone support a big help when arrving after office hours.I would have spent a fortune in 2 hotel rooms for my entire family, Onsite office appears to have been renovated with new business center and extended hours. Highly recommend it to friends and family.
Conveniently close to malls and Downtown Miami.
Limited Office Hours for "Onsite corporate management team": M-F 9-5
No Pool / Jacuzzi
Limited Work Out Hours: M-F 9-5
Limited Business Center Hours: M-F 9-5
1 TV, not a "Cable TV in every room" as advertised
No "Terraces and balconies for your enjoyment" in some apartments
Very nice furnishings... looks upscale. However, the walls are thin: children can be heard running around and it is loud when neighbors move their furniture. What bothered me the most is the lack of customer service. The "office" is on the second floor in what is supposed to be an apartment and the limited hours make it difficult for someone who works 9-5 M-F to get hold of anyone should they need any assistance. I was told that the gym would have extended hours a week ago and they keep pushing back the date, knowing that many residents are unhappy with the limited business/office/gym hours (which are all in the same room). Staff shows up late and closes early. Overall, an OK experience. I didn't feel I was getting my money's worth because I was only able to use the gym once... when I managed to come home early one day from work. Cleaning staff is very friendly.
