Wolf Creek Ranch Ski Lodge, South Fork

We have stayed here many times in past years and have appreciated the low prices and reasonably comfortable rooms in the motel. The new management has raised prices above the relative value of the rooms vs Pagosa Springs lodging. We like the proximity to the ski area and in past years have enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and outdoor grills outside the rooms. On this visit the hot tub heater was not working, the grills were buried under snow, the room was in need of a remodel or at least a serious fix up to repair things like the nonworking bathroom fan/the leaky ceiling/the blinds that don't cover the window/and many other things to numerous to mention. The cable has improved in that in previous trips you could only get what was being watched in the main office and now can get many channels, however, it must be the most basic package since there were no sports channels available. Also, last trip we had WiFi in the room but it had disappeared on this visit. No telephones in the rooms is another negative. The only thing this place has going for it now is being the closest lodging to the ski area(15 min) and being on the side of the ski area that doesn't close due to avalanches on the road as is sometime the case with staying in Pagosa Springs.

Stayed in Motel# 1. Room dirty, frig didn't work very well, kept food colder in the ice chest. Room in much need of a update, it wouldn't take much..some towel racks in the bathroom, and kitchen area, a ceiling fan above the bed, dish drainer. Hot tub stinks, maybe too much chlorine. We have stayed at Comfort Inn a much better place for around $70.00, this piece cost $50.00 bucks a night

beautiful location - decent rooms - cleanliness ok - prices are high - new management since last vsit - new management unfriendly - in fact rude - trial rides awesome as usual - will find somewhere else to stay next year - but will still ride with the ranch
