I wish they would stop calling me!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/09
Over the past 3 months I have received 3 phone calls per week from telimarketers trying to push this place on me. They start out by saying this is not a marketing call ( a lie) and proceed to try and get me to book a stay at Kings Creek Plantantation so they can give me a 2 hour sales pitch. I live about 30 minutes from the place and have no desire to vacation there. I have explained this to the telimarketers and requested that they do not contact me again. I am on the do not call list and have no business relationship with them. But they keep on calling and calling. I have tried to speak with a supervisor at the telimarketing company and was hung up on. I tried to speak with a representative at Kings Creek Plantation and was put on hold or passed to voice mail. The place might be nice but the way they are marketing it tells me they are not people I want to do business with. Please Please stop calling me!!!

Enchanting and relaxing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/09
Our stay was a pleasent surprise, we stayed at the Estates which is the newest section of Kings Creek. The detail in craftmanship was elegant and detailed that you just do not see anymore. Our family occupied a full 3 unit building ( 4 bedrooms and 3 kitchens )on Dakota Dr. There are arched walls surrounding the jet tubs in each of the master bedrooms. Beautiful framed pictures set inside , helping us relax. The accomidations gave our family privaicy when we wanted it and plenty of room when we wanted to gather. The kitchens all have granite tops and stainless steel appliances. The furniture is of a high quality as is the carpet. The evenings were great for we able to sit outside without the worry of the children running onto a busy street, we felt safe surrounded by the trees. There is a large fountain that is lit up at night adding to the the peace.Details you do not see in a Hilton or Holiday Inn or any other hotels in the area and we've stayed in many throughout the years in Williamsburg. The pricing is very comparable. A must stay if your visiting Williamsburg.

We will never stay there again!
By KATHY, 02/27/09
The only thing I liked about this resort is the location. I read so many reviews about how great this place was so I was excited to surprise my husband with a Valentine's weekend getaway there. What a major disappointment! I paid for the trip in full through Yahoo! travel but when I went to check in I had to stand there for about 15 minutes while the desk clerk tried calling her manager to find out why her system stated I owed $169. No one could figure out what the balance was for so I was told I would have to give them by credit card number to charge the $169 or they wouldn't let me check in. I was told they would research the fee and if they didn't call me back then the fee was correct and my credit card would be billed. Reluctantly I agreed to just give them the credit card information. We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit. What a dump! It looked more like a low budget motel room than a so called 5 star resort. I wouldn't plan on watching TV in the "living room". The TV was a 12" screen that sits on top of the refrigerator. The bedroom furniture looked like they picked it up at the trash dump. We could hear every conversation our neighbors had. I called the contact number on my reservation through Yahoo! travel to find out why I was told I still owed money and the representative had no idea why I was being charged additional money. He tried calling the manager to clear up the situation but was told the manager wouldn't be back for another 2 hours. I wrote down all the reservation information and left it at the front desk for the manager to call and confirm that I did not owe any money. About an hour later the "manager" called and told me the $169 was a mandatory cleaning fee. What??? I explained there was nothing listed when I reserved the room about a cleaning fee. He then got an attitude and stated "We are a 5 star resort and we charge a cleaning fee." I responded with "The room you gave me is sure not a 5 star room." He then stated I am staying in a 1 bedroom unit and if I wanted to pay extra he could give me a 2 bedroom unit. I guess the only rooms that are 5 star are the 2+bedroom units. I declined his offer because as far as I was concerned what I was paying already was too much. He eventually agreed that I would not have to pay the cleaning fee. Our experience with this resort was so bad that I didn't even want to stay our 2nd night. I was actually considering checking out and going to the Days Inn down the street. Check out time at this resort is 10 AM. My husband was packing the car at 8 AM while I was in the shower. Much to his surprise they had inactivated our room keys 2 hours early and he was stuck outside until I got out of the shower and heard him knocking at the door. That was the last straw and I was done with this place - the whole experience was unbelievable. When I checked out I had to wait for the desk clerk to finish with the gentleman in front of me. She was so nice and polite to him and finished the process with thanking him for staying and asking how his stay was. I don't know if it had something to do with the look on my face or whether the "manager" made a notation on how disappointed I was with the room but she took my room key and said "your balance is zero". That was it - no thank you or how was your stay. So beware - if you are thinking of reserving a 1 bedroom unit - I would think again or better yet stay somewhere else.

We loved it!
By Stevan H, 01/07/09
My family of 5 (3 kids - age 11, 3 and 2) went down for a week in Nov 2008. We had a two bedroom townhouse unit with upstairs and downstairs. (bedrooms were the only thing upstairs). The unit was nice and clean and in good repair. The kitchen was a galley-type kitchen. There was plenty of room for all of us - the 11 year old slept on the pull-out couch in the livingroom. The pool was the highlight of the trip. There was NEVER anyone else there and the water had to be 90 degrees - which is just the way we like it!... but, more importantly, the pool was designed with kids in mind... there was a large section of the pool that was only 2 feet deep!!!! My kids (who can't swim yet) were able to frollic and play without having to have someone hold them! That was really nice. They also had a large indoor AND outdoor jacuzzi... very very very nice. We can't wait to go back next year.

We Visit Yearly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/08
My family has chosen to visit King's Creek each year. We love the Williamsburg area. KCP is the perfect place to stay. Our extended family travel with us. They look forward to spending a week at KCP. I love the cottages. We usually reserve two units for the family because of the space that's provided. The only thing that I would change would be the sofas in the cottages. They need to be replaced ASAP. We Love King's Creek. We are thankful that we chose to purchase our time share at KCP. To God be the Glory

Managers are not organized
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/08
Managers need to fill the needs for each employee. Ex:I have stayed @ Kings Mill and the cleaning staff wears the same uniform as the front desk clerks. Make shure uniforms fits employees properly. KCP needs a better Game Room ASAP the color needs to make Kids smile, the Games need to be undated and their needs to be a playground rember (Family Resort)this is what poeple need now a days! Also things like lockers the the ladies room that lock and wireless computer is a must for this to be the best. If the clubhouse remodel is the start then you are taking one foot in the right direction. But untill you complete these need for everyone as you should (you have convinced us to own) you will have future owners questioning have I made the right dission. Thank you for your time in reading this letter.

Great for families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/07
We stayed at the King's Creek Plantation in June 2007 through a RCI exchange. We loved our two bedroom "apartment". Our teenage boys had their own bedroom, T.V. and bathroom. My daughter slept on the sofa bed. Our unit had the kitchen and family room on the ground floor with the two bedrooms downstairs. Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. I could have stayed there a month! Would definetly go back again and recommend the place to others.

Awesome!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/07
Although I was dreading going to Williamsburg because I don't like historical stuff, staying at King's Creek Plantation made up for it! The pools were amazing, and the houses were clean and big.

Perfect Location...with great amenities!
By Mike J, 03/30/07
My wife and I had a time share through RCI. So we decided to use it at King's Creek. Real easy to find...only seconds from I64 on Rt 199. We went early spring, and it was not crowded at all. 10 minute drive to Busch Gardens. 15 mins from Colomial Williamsburg and 15 mins to the Prime-Outlets. And if Water Country was open, it was walking distance away. Hot tub, pool, steam room, dry sauna, gym, and free internet at the aquatics center. Seperate house set up is a nice feature, not a hotel like atmosphere which makes it even more relaxing. We had a unit that had 1 king size bed, LARGE jacuzzi tub, standing shower, living room, and small kitchen area. It was all we needed. The only negatives were the wild kids in the indoor pool area. Definitely not an area to relax in the hot tub. A little supervision can go a long way with not only keeping the area calm, but from preventing injuries as well. All in all, we would stay at King's Creek anytime we decide to make the journey down to Williamsburg.
