Nighamare at Kings Creek TimeShare Presentation
We all get the marketing strategy of luring people in to viewing timeshare properties with incentives of free tickets and gift cards and then trying to give them an offer they cannot refuse. Every company in the business practices this strategy. However, it is only truly rare companies like Kings Creek Plantation that manages to show their disrespect and disgust for the average human who gets lured into their offices for these presentations. For insulting people and making them feel shallow and cheap, King’s Creek Plantation gets the award!
While out shopping at Prime Outlets in Williamsburg VA, we were ambushed by the Kings Creek staff into attending one of their presentations. They enticed us, as they do countless others with tickets and incentives and assured us (even after we told them that we were not interested in buying on the spot but would be interested in viewing their models in order to compare with our current timeshare properties) that the 90 minute presentation would allow us to visit your models without any pressure to buy.
We attended the presentation on May 29th, 2010. We kept telling the sales lady that we were not interested in buying. She tells us she needs to do her job and we will have to sit through the 90 minute presentation. The presentation turns into a 3 hour ordeal with the sales lady showing us pictures of her vacation trips and also showing us every billboard and award on the walls of the entire office. I noticed the rest of the staff give us wry and amused smiles as we walked through the halls viewing every picture and hearing stories about the time when they broke ground on the project!!!!! We were literally punished for being honest about our buying intentions. But adding insult to injury, even after we patiently listened to the entire 3 hour tour/presentation/joke, we were made to wait for 30 minutes for our gift certificates. When we questioned anyone about our tickets and when we asked about the manager, we were pointed to various people with each person pointing us to the next, all the while saying “oh, he’s the manager, she’s the manager”.
The Kings Creek staff cannot give potential customers any respect. So God only knows how they treat the poor people who actually buy the $45K properties they sell. Although everyone in this business uses similar tactics, the staff at Kings Creek cannot even show basic respect to people. We currently own two time shares, both with companies who treated us with respect even though we did not buy the first time they presented to us. We know of all the websites and other resources potential buyers use before they buy time share and we will make it a point to fully inform the public NEVER to even give the King’s Creek staff a chance to lure them in for a presentation. King’s Creek not only DOES NOT deserve our business, they DO NOT even deserve our ear.
