Not worth paying
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/5/11
Lots of fun things to do like jet ski and kayaking; at least they get police patrols once in a while; fun for Spanish-speakers who can actually comprehend the music. There are no lifeguards/paramedics. However, the beach was overpopulated. The beach was littered with broken beer bottles and one of my children got hurt by them. The depth has a sudden drop. Very unsafe for children...Keep an eye on them! Music is WAY too loud...reckless people playing football and boat racing...Overall unsafe and not worth paying $

Beautiful Place to visit!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/1/11
I love Banaba Bend, the service is good, clean, police awareness, music, freiendly people, beautiful boats, jet ski and lots of fun to go. This place is close to home and easy access to enjoy a afternoon. I had so much fun here since I've learned about this place. We have a group that come every other Saturday or every Sunday! We hang out and ride our boat and jet ski! I just say "Watch your kids" "Don't swim across the river" and "Don't stand out too far from the shore" and you should be fine!!!

Too dangerous!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/11
One drowning every month! Don't play with your life! The sand is soft and there are undercurrents.

Great place and cheap!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/27/10
We were also there last weekend and my family and i really enjoyed it. You can bring in your own food and drinks in for free you just pay $5 bucks for the entrance. They have a great Dj that plays great music for all! Just be carful with the children in the river its really deep. DONT leave them alone. But besides that its a great place and cheap!!!

DO NOT GO
By Rebecca, 8/18/10
This place is NOT SAFE. There have been soooo many drownings here that have/have not made the news. This is a river, not a pool. Please listen to my warning. There are not any lifeguards or any paramedics in close proximity to respond if there is a problem. This should not be a beach. It's a death trap.

A definite hidden secret of fun
By Evelyn, 8/2/10
We were also there this past weekend, and a 55 year old woman drowned. It was the first time for our family to visit and the lake is great, but they should be warnings on the deepness of the water. You can walk then your next step drops at such a dramatic state, if you don't know how to swim, you will drown, and that could of been what happened to this lady. We have been praying for this family, for their loss. Can't the park at least put out some markers on the change of the deepness of the water, I think that is their responsibility.

Lovely but yet scary....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/10
I have been coming to this beach for a few years now. I love this beach and it's perfect for small children and big or small families. My only concern would be the lifeguard situation. There are no life guards and this past weekend my family and I witnessed a drowning. It took nealy forever for paramedics to arrive, and with small children around it wasn't pleasant. I will come back just really keep a close eye on the little ones and lets not forget to drink responsibly. Thanks...
