Appalling service, rude innkeeper

Extremely unprofessional service. The inn does not accept credit cards, so a reservation has to be made either with cash or check. Six business days after I had mailed my check, the innkeeper informed me via e-mail that my payment had not yet been received (I mailed it three days before Christmas), that my reservation has been cancelled and that the room is no longer available. Even though she had my contact information I received no inquiry about the payment or warning that my reservation would be forfeited. When I called the inn to inquire about what happened, the innkeeper was extremely rude, even insulting, and hung up the phone while I was in mid-sentence. I am only grateful to have been spared an undoubtedly unpleasant stay.
