Emeraldview Guesthouse, Hilo

Emeraldview B&B is located above downtown Hilo. It seems hard to find but if you just keep going down this narrow road they are at the end on the right. Just don't try to turn around before you get there because you might get stuck! The owners are two gay men who are really, really friendly. The two guest rooms are located in a daylight basement area and there is a sitting porch overlooking a pretty stream. Unfortunately you can't see the ocean. Ask for the room with the side windows. Our room was cave like and my husband is clastrophobic. There is really nothing to do but sit on the porch. There are mosquitoes and they provide mosquito nets on the porch and over the beds.
