Clean & Comfortable
Paid $68 per night. The rooms were clean as were all the common areas. The whole inn appeared well kept and it was quiet. The front desk staff I interacted with were cordial and helpful. Mini-fridges and microwaves are an extra charge if you want them. I found the beds a little too soft, but I slept well nonetheless. The morning breakfast (6:30-9:30 a.m.) is excellent: fresh apples, bananas, and oranges; orange and apple juice; iced water; hot water and tea bags; regular and decaf fresh-brewed coffees; four cereals; whole, 1%, and skim milk; mini-muffins, bread, fruit danish, English muffins, bagels, warm cinnamon rolls; packages of cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly, maple syrup; there's even a four-slice toaster to warm up the French toast slices or anything else you want. The swimming pool and whirlpool are available 24 hours with your room keycard, but the pool is small--don't expect to swim laps. Off the pool there's a patio with chairs. In the evening, complimentary cookies are available to guests at the front desk. There is a coin-operated guest laundry. The rooms contain a coffee maker, iron, and ironing board, clock radio, two telephones, a data port, two chairs and a table, and a thermostat for controlling the air conditioning so you get the exact temperature you want. Television reception, including free HBO, is excellent. Shampoo and hair conditioner are provided along with bath soap. The lobby has a small seating area with comfortable chairs and a computer for guests to access the Internet. The Inn is directly across the the street from the Hocking Hills Welcome Center and within a short, easy drive of a shopping center (with a Wal-Mart supercenter and gas station), canoe rental business, and the locally revered Olde Dutch Restaurant (both buffet and menu service available). The inn does not have any food service or a bar/lounge. The Inn is near all the major natural attractions within the Hocking Hills, but you have to drive to them all. The Inn is also very close to Lake Logan where you can swim, boat, and fish. I would stay here again at the Internet rate, but neither the rack nor telephone-quoted rate. An AmeriHost Inn is also nearby that is a few dollars cheaper, so you might want to check it out, too. I will if I return to the area.
