Thank you all at HIE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/09
I recently stayed 10 nights at the Tupelo HIE due to a family medical emergency. EVERYONE at the hotel was friendly and helpful to my needs. They were able to extend my stay several times without moving to a different room. They provide excellent breakfast and hot coffee. I appreciate everyone from the front desk to the cleaning lady for room 307 as none of them saw me at my best as I dealt with a difficult and stressful situation. Thank you all for making my stay easy so I could focus on my father. And if you should ever find yourself in this area and in need of medical attention, North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo is an excellent hospital and provided wonderful care to my father. I will be returning soon and plan to stay at HIE. Thank you all and Gob bless you! Emily M. of Pine Mountain GA

Our Hotel of Choice!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/07
My family and I love Holiday Inns. We only stay at them when we travel. I always have the security of knowing it is a safe, clean, place for my family to stay. With the exception of one out of probally 30 hotels have we ever incountered any kind of problem. I think that is a pretty good record. We also enjoy the free breakfast. The cinnamon rolls are amazing! So we would definitly recommend trying a Holiday Inn for your next stay.

Sewer Smell Third Floor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/07
This hotel in Tupelo MS was in outward appearances a nice hotel. The breakfast was the standard that you get at most hotels anymore, continental style with rubber eggs and cold bread products. The problem that we encountered was a strong sewer smell on the third floor going towards the lower numbered rooms. When informing the night clerk about the odor, she did go up to check it and returned saying that it was an ongoing problem that they have had and she would inform maintenance again about it and that it was a sewer problem. The hallway was extrememly cold which I believe was done to mask the smell. In the morning upon checking out we asked the same questions of the day clerk and she said she had never heard of the problem before. Funny that the night clerk does not report anything to the day clerk and if it was an ongoing problem...the employees should all know about it! I expressed that to her and she replied curtly that the manager would be informed. So if staying there be sure to ask for the lower floors.

Changed the bill after checkout
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/07
After searching for it, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and Kimball 300 Battle Creek Rd., South Pittsburg, TN. No changer for TV, they tried to replace it but NONE of them worked, no "Do Not Disturb" signs. I was woken up because of the lack of signs, I asked not to be disturbed, and 1 hour later was bugged again by the SAME room cleaner. I called the front desk and the Manager implied I lied about being disturbed. I got home and our SIGNED bill was changed, adding a hold of $31.00, which has still not been released (4 days) after I called the place to inquire why; my husband and myself were being charged additional fees, "it's their policy", and should be RELEASED SOON. The Night Clerk Nick was very nice. I would not stay there based on crummy stuff, experience and Management, the morning dark haired woman. I usually stay at Embassy Suites which are awesome, but we thought we would try a place near 75. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I didn't get the sleep I needed to drive. I rate it a 2 out of 10. Crummy wooden furniture too, all chipped up, bent door lock, not well maintained. Embassy Suites are like royalty compared to this shack.

Very disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/07
Air conditioner makes noise that keeps you awake. Kids running up and down the halls making noise and mgmt doesn't care. Breakfast is a joke. The cinnamon rolls are hard and cold and is supposed to start at 6 and isn't out until 6:30. They invite you to a managers reception with food that is old and hard. This seems to be a new facility. But the people running it don't seem to care what their customers think. I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone.

Nightmare
By Razorblade, 5/9/06
No signs on the highway like the other motels. Would you believe this property also does not have a sign on their street. They blame it on the city but I was told otherwise by a county official. They also have plug in DLS (vice Wi-Fi). Had a problem with the connection and their 24/7 tech support had me on hold for over 45 minutes on a Sunday evening. The USB port on the business center computer did not work. The desk table in my room actually vibrated because of a generator on the other side of a wall. But it was the 0430 wake up call that I did not request which was the decision maker that I was changing motels. I also suspect the reason my back is killing me today was the mattress I slept on last night. On the way out this morning, someone left a broom, dust mop and something else propped against the elevator button wall. So anyone coming out of the elevator promptly fell over it. The manager arrived around 8:30 and tried to make nice but his claim that they had to have DSL plug in (rather than Wi-Fi like every other Holiday Inn Express I have used across the country) because government travelers cannot stay at motels with Wi-Fi did it for me. I'm a government traveler, my two son's are government travelers, etc. Please don't pee on my leg then try to tell me its raining.

Full passes for queen
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/23/06
I made a reservation for a 2 queen bed hotel room andgot 2 full beds instead they told me that those were their queen beds. I think not. I have a queen bed and have been in hotels with queen beds this was not a queen bed. I will never stay there again.
