First Class All the Way
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/06
It is always nice to be treated like a King when you stay in a resort style hotel. Everyone knows your face and name and they immediatly respond to your needs. I will not stay anywhere else in Asheville if I want to relax this way again.

Absolutely Magnificent!
By bad_pat, 12/7/05
It was quite a long drive from Orlando to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. Our drive up was filled with anticipation - looking forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary at the Inn and we were not disappointed! We wanted to see the Estate near Christmas and everything was just being decorated at the Inn when we arrived. We opted for the Candelight Christmas package so that most things were included. The Estate was interesting and taking the audio and rooftop tours was well worth the ticket price. The only disappointment we had was the grounds and the gardens where in winter mode and all the colorful magnificence designed by Mr. Olmsted was not visible at this time of year (I guess we will have to go back in late spring to see the rose garden and the wysteria in bloom). All of the staff on the Estate was very knowlegable about the Vanderbilt family and the house and that is very rewarding for those of us that are history buffs. The Winery, the Farm Village and everything on the Estate was in superb condition and so very entertaining. The one thing I truly enjoy about touring any winery is the tasting at the end of the tour! The Biltmore Winery is nothing unusual - pretty much standard for a domestic limited capacity winery but the wines - most of wich are blended with grapes from the left coast, are quite marvelous. My wife's favorite is the American Reisling - a semi sweet white table wine with a very nice finish. However, the crowing jewel on our visit was the Inn itself. Yes its a bit pricey, but it is a Four Star Hotel and every part of our experience there was wonderful! The valet staff, the concierge, the wait staff in the restaurant - all above board and extremely helpful. Even the valet parking was easy to deal with. Our room was spacious and very clean (expected) and the view from our balcony (Hotel front) was gorgeous. The meals we enjoyed at the Bistro at the Winery and at the hotel restaurant were most enjoyable - my compliments to the chef at both locations. Yes, we will go back again and I am not going to wait another twenty five years to experience that level of luxury again. We will return to the Vanderbilt's again very soon!

Finally a Queen!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/05
Wow! If you want to be part of a royal family...then come to the Inn. When my husband and I married six years ago, he told me I would be the Queen. Well, this weekend, it finally happened! The service, was great. The food...fabulous! My husband and I were truely welcomed and pampered the entire weekend. From the "Welcome back" when we came back from the Winery, to the bed being turned down for us at night. Thanks again for a truely magical experience! We will definitely be back! Roger & Jenny Nelson

A Nice Weekend
By PamelaD, 10/12/05
The Biltmore Inn was nice, but NOT the very best. In my opinion, it was a bit overpriced. Service was very good, but not exceptional, which is what I would expect at this price range. The room was average size, but we got a "veranda" and a nice view. We had nice dinners at the Bistro and Dining Room. Although it also was not cheap, the food was very good. The Inn is a great way to see the Biltmore over more than one day, so you are not worn out. The shuttle for guests of the Inn makes seeing everything even easier. However, I can agree that the estate as a whole is a little like a tourist trap, with them looking to get every penny they can and not trying to create the most laid back experience. It was also a bonus that the outdoor pool was still open in mid-October.

Outstanding
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/19/05
The Inn was a wonderful place to stay. In walking distance to the winery and they have great transportation within the grounds. The staff were wonderful. If you like great service, clean rooms and great views this is the place to stay while visiting Biltmore.

Beautiful getaway!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/15/05
My mom, sister and I stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful. The winery is great and the trail walking to the winery from the Inn is beautiful! The rooms were spotless and the beds sooo comfortable. The only negative I have to say is that the one night we ate in the restaurant, the bill was VERY expensive and the service was bad. It took 3 hours total for our meal and they got our order mixed up and didn't even apologize! Our favorite place to eat was actually the Bistro by the winery. The food and service was great! The veranda at the Inn is really nice where you can sit outside and have a cocktail and overlook the mountains. The view is breathtaking. The pool is also absolutely gorgeous! All in all, a GREAT time!!!

Nice But...
By ben cassady, 8/4/05
The exterior and grounds are very nice, and the view is spectacular. However the rooms are a little small but well appointed, bathroom was nice with seperate shower and tub and all the usual amenities. The major drawback was the price. We paid $250 a night, and it was by no means worth that, as the staff is not very attentive from the from desk to the concierge and almost every where we were waiting in a line. Having recently stayed at a Ritz Carlton for almost the same price their was no comparison in the experience. Also as you might expect the on property restaurants are extremely pricey, and not very good. We ate at the Bistro at the winery and paid about $32 an entree. The decor was not impressive and the food was mediocre at best. The menu at the inn was similar but with nicer decor. The bright spot was the large outdoor deck offering beautiful views of the mountains where you could relax and order drinks or deserts from a roving wait staff, who appeared to be the only ones interested in seeing that you enjoyed you stay. All in all we definitely enjoyed our stay but must give the hotel low marks for price and food.

WISH I COULD AFFORD IT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/05
The Inn was beautiful, and the house was specatular. The resaturant inside the Inn was very expensive, with the food not as great as the price dictated. And the wait staff was very rude and very insufficient. I really was disappointed with their attitude, which started with the maitre'd all the way to the waiters. The grounds and stables were wonderful, we had a great time riding horseback. The guide was great, she was very knowledge and friendly and had a genuine care for the animals and her customers.
