Casa Real Bogota, Bogota

We asked a lot of the Hotel Casa Real and the staff, and they were fantastic. My son married a young Colombian woman last weekend. We booked a block of rooms at the Casa Real for 12 people who had never visited Latin America. Most didn't speak Spanish. In addition, the hotel staff helped with arrangements for all visitors. They arranged 2 tours for our group of over 20 people, transportation to and from the wedding venue, last minute trips to Villa de Leyva and more. The senior staff seemed to be present day and night, 7 days a week. Maria was at the front desk when we dragged in from the wedding on Saturday evening, making sure that the bus had picked us up on time. The location was great. Our group felt comfortable in the neighborhood and could walk to restaurants and shops. I know I couldn't have helped with the wedding in the ways I did without Marta, Catalina, and Maria. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel is charming with its room doors and baseboards hand painted by a local artist (the daughter of a hotel employee). the location was perfect, out of the way enough to be quiet and safe for walking, just a block or two from Parque de la 93, a sweet municipal square surrounded by Colombia-hip shops and restaurants. The staff is attentive, the breakfast good, and the rooms exceptionally roomy and tastefully decorated. Ours had a fireplace, an office space a separate bedroom and a roomy bathroom, newly plumbed with modern fixtures, and even a breakfast table area! We were very pleasantly surprised at every turn.

I found this cozy hotel online and was a bit hesitant of staying there. I made a good decision and booked my stay for 3 days. The room was cozy and big, it had fresh flowers and a nice decoration. Also, the room was very clean. The staff was polite and helpful. The hotel itself had a nice and quiet ambiance and a beautiful little restaurant. Perfect for a romantic weekend. The location was also just perfect, a 5 minute walk from one of the hottest spots in the city (Parque de la 93) and about a 10 minute drive from another hot spot (La Zona Rosa). We couldn't have asked for anything better and we will definitelly go back in the future.

The location is very good, the room size excellent, the decor slightly outdated, quite functional, cleanliness excellent. However, in spite of staff being extremely polite and pleasant, service is a little bit hectic. I could suggest improving the breakfast service and attention. Also helpful would be to provide information about hotel amenities, and services, general information on Bogota, things to do etc� With a little improved management the place could be much better.
