AVOID!
By A., 10/1/11
Tried to make a reservation over the phone. Was told it wasn't needed and was told that no matter what! Got there and within two minutes was being told that I had to leave after commenting to another guest how rude the man working was. The "employee" then proceeded to tell me I would have to leave as they no longer had any rooms. I was happy to leave, but needed to a few minutes to find another place to stay. He did not allow me to sit and continued to attempt to remove my luggage. I told him he was not allowed to touch me or my belongings. He would not leave me alone and allow me to move. He got an inch from my face putting his fist in front of me threating me bodily harm. I was told I was rich and trying to push him around and also was a crackhead. I was sahken and called the cops who never came otherwise I would've filed a report. I have never had a truly bad experience at a hostel before. THis was unsafe and no amount of discount is worth being treated in such a manner.

Amazing value - highly recommended
By Andrew D, 9/10/11
This hostel ticks all the boxes - cheap, centrally located and all the amenities you require including internet and wifi. For $10 you get more than what you pay for, the staff are friendly and the rooms clean and you will meet a lot of interesting people here. recommended for any traveller on a budget who wants to experience Vancouver properly.

Cheap, centrally located and friendly
By Robert Anderson, 9/10/11
I was a bit apprehensive to book a hostel that cost only $10 a night and in such a central location (mere blocks away from Granville street and the Waterfront) but I was pleasantly surprised to discover the friendliness of the staff, the decent rooms and most of all the amenities - free wifi, decent bathrooms and cheap internet usage. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone on a budget and I hope to return soon.

Cheap and Cheerful
By Bob, 3/10/11
Got a real kick out of staying here. So many hostels are dull and lifeless. This one was the sort of place you can talk to a lot of people. They have a common area, kitchen area (with microwave) and a dance floor with stereo. Not bad for 10 bucks a night, eh? If you like peace and quiet or if you are really into cleanliness, you may not like this place. It is not suitable for families. I also wouldn't have my honeymoon here. But it is perfect for backpackers travelling on a budget.

love this place
By James, 3/10/11
There is a lot to love about this place: parties, socialising, meeting new people, hanging out with them or going out with them. When I stayed there was a really fun crowd of people. The hostel is within walking distance of the city. I recommend it for the convenient location as well as the price and the social atmosphere. Additional information: The hostel did not have bed bugs while I was there. Gay and lesbian friendly. Not family friendly.

Wonderful Stay
By Dawna-chan, 5/20/10
I arrived here in April of 2010, and still currently residing here. I haven't had any problems here, since I got here. I liked it so much I now work the front desk. We have night time security, a screening process to help keep this hostel for travelers only. I can be found normally 4-7pm cleaning the hostel and always willing to help anyone who needs the help. Wonderful atmosphere where you can chat with other travelers over a few drinks, watch a movie, etc. Come try us out, I am sure you will enjoy your stay as much as the price.

Burn it down
By scoobi dasixnine, 6/29/09
Honestly the dirtiest and crappiest place you can stay in Vancouver outside of Main and Hastings. Rude staff, BED BUGS, poor facilities and the boss trying to hawk his lame-ass CD on you are just some of the reasons you should avoid this place. The people that stay/live there are actually OK but to be perfectly honest I would pay a little more for a better, cleaner environment. Yes its cheap, but yes it shows. Go 2 blocks up Seymour or 2 across to Cambie and find a waaaaay better place for just a little more. Unless you can handle or enjoy hostile yet ignorant staff who find it a burden to help you out, sharing your bed with critters and the pseudo-religious graffiti, I would say you are better staying somewhere, anywhere else. Seriously.

Don't even think about it...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/4/09
We had a reservation but did not even bother staying. I walked inside at 1 pm to check in and the manager (female) was incredibly rude and not helpful at all. She said i would have to come back in 4 hours because she couldn't help me then. The place smelled bad, looked like a crack house, and she was so rude. I walked out and made a reservation at the Seymour two blocks away. I would definitely recommend booking your stay at the Seymour instead.
