Turtles Refuge Backpackers Hostel, Victoria

This was easily the worst hostel I have ever seen. There were at least two doors to the outside that were never locked. There was only one working shower in the whole place. One night, a drunken guy came in and made a huge commotion, spent a long while loudly discussing his fighting exploits at a local bar, recounted the story of how he exposed himself to a local store clerk, and then kicked in the office door. He also left the front door open all night. In the morning the individual room keys were visible and totally available to passersby. The drunken person turned out to be the owner (seriously!). I know this place is cheap, but if you value your personal safety and security at all (never mind a good night's sleep), DO NOT STAY HERE.
