Vacances Canada M.D, Montreal

Me and my friend we decided to spent there 8 nights in summer of 2007, because of the cheap price. As we arrieved in the night, the receptionist was quite polite but very tight. We did not have 2 dollars - cash to close the deal for the booked period, so he said that he can´t make it, even if we promised that the next day we return him the money back. However, in the end we paid with credit card, which was allowed. The place seems to be more a dirty old school, than a youth hostel. We shared a room with 8 other people. The beds were dirty; no place to leave luggages, no room cleaning, everything was disaster. Somebody said that this is a place for homeless people, and I agree totally. A very small toilet room (1m/1m) on the hall was common for more or less 40-50 people. One day somebody comited suicide in the toilet and we could not use it because was blood everywhere and nobody cleaned after. I could not take a shower there, it was full of mushrooms everywhere. On the halls I saw lots of kids (10 years old) ..maybe there were abandoned, who knows. I was happy to go from there and I do not recommend to anyone to go to Vacances Canada MD. Basically they want to sell the place as a hostel, but the conditions are improper for visitors. Instead of relaxing and enjoing Montreal, I feeled very stressed.
