Tee Pee Campground and RV Park, Rapid City

When we were looking for a spot to be for a few nights, we were looking mainly at price, we were surprised to find an older, clean, friendly, safe and well run campground. The operators are very friendly and helpful, the sites are very large, flat and grassy. We only needed water and power so our site was perfect for us. We will be coming by here again and will definitely stop here. It's very central to Rapid City and all it's attractions.

The fall is the absolute best time to visit the Black Hills. The weather is cool, not many people around and no one is in a hurry. This campground is slow paced and friendly and comfortable. We do not need a pool, just want clean bathrooms and walks around the campground for exercise and friendly people to visit with. Hookups are spacious and grass is great! Laundry & wifi work good too. Hosts tell you about best sites to see & we had a nice fire at night in the firerings.

No sewer hook-up, not enough hot water when I was there, very little shade & only 6 or 8 channels that kept dropping the signal. Between that, nowhere near enough shade & the smell when someone dumped their tank, I won't be back!

we happen to be present when the people who complained about the rude owner &helper. when they checked in they refused to put there dog on a leash or put it on one all the time they were in the park. they had to be told at night to be quiet because of their fighting. and the helper was rude because he was weedwacking and she was on the telephone and couldn't walk away from the cabin she was in to continue her call. also they left camp without paying for laundery room use that is run on the honor plan,so owner is probly glad her and her friends won't be back.

If you just want a place to use for a base camp, this campground is fine. If you're hoping for a pool, lots of shade, great playground, great wireless and cable, this probably won't be your favorite spot. We just needed a spot to camp while we were touring the hills, and it worked great for that.

We stayed for 5 weeks during May and June 2011. The owner is the kindness, most gracious woman you'll ever meet. We loved the hilltop view where we parked on the grass and could enjoy the wildlife and weather. The park is quiet, clean and easy to get hooked up and settled in. The laundry, bath and shower facilities are always clean and usable. The camp hosts were also great people and became good friends. The monthly rates can't be beat anywhere. All utilities were included and we didn't need satellite or cable to get tons of TV stations. The Office has coffee and some store products including ice to save a trip to town Easy to find, just off Highway 16 South of Rapid City, close to Custer Sate Park and Mount Rushmore. "We'll be back!"

Terrific owners, free coffee, well stocked little store, clean bathrooms that never run out of hot water. Very quiet after 10 pm, very safe, convenient to Rapid City and the whole of the Black Hills. I recommend this place.

We chose this campground based solely on price and location. We were staying eight nights in Rapid City for a convention and wanted to tent camp. We knew we would be leaving each morning early and coming back late each night. As long as it had free showers that was enough. We were pleasantly surprised by lots of grass, large campsites, free coffee in the morning, friendly helpful owners/managers, two washers and two dryers, and ice that was cheaper than the grocery stores. I would definitely recommend it.
