The Northey Street House, Salem

The hostess was so accommodating and so thoughtful, we felt right at home! This was the best experience we have had when staying overnight at an establishment. Definitely worth the trip to see beautiful Salem and feel special at the end of the day!!

My experience at Northey House was superior. The breakfasts were delicious with something special each day of my stay. I stayed in 2 rooms and both had their particular charm. Flora gave me great tips on what to do in both Salem and Boston and none missed the mark. I was using public transit during my stay and she gave me information and schedules for all my needs. I felt like we were close friends when I left and I thank her for making my trip one with many fond memories.

Outstanding hostess that went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The house was lovely and was able to read about the history of this 1809 home. Breakfast was delicious, I've never had such tasty, fresh scones!

My husband and I just spent three nights at The Northey Street B&B. We have been to many B&B's and we found Norhtey Street a great place to stay. Flora was a great hostess, and also makes a delicious breakfast. We would recommend staying here when visiting Salem.

The Northey Bed abd Breakfast is a great B&B. The people are very friendly. It is in a perfect location to visit Salem. It is always clean and decorated very nicely too. I've returned there again and again many times because my stay was so nice, both for bussiness and leisure accommodations.

We spent 3 nights in Salem and had a great time...Flora's B&B was like staying with a friend, she is very helpful and hospitable. The house, beds, room size, privacy and garden are all perfect! We will definately recommend Northey's to all of our friends. Salem is also a perfect location to stay and do day trips to Boston via the train, Marblehead and Cape Ann. We had a fantastic visit and will be back again!

The Northey Street House is quiet, comfortable, and immaculate. It's centrally located to the commuter rail and the city center. Flora is very helpful, and serves up delicious, ample, and healthful breakfasts, and her beagle Charlie is a charming co-host. I would recommend Northey Street to anyone visiting Salem.

This was my & my wife’s first stay at a bed & breakfast, and it certainly won’t be our last. We arrived hours before the normal check in time and were warmly greeted by Flora and her beagle Charlie and shown to our room. We were in a bit of a rush to catch a train into Boston for sightseeing, and Flora generously gave us a ride to the station so we could catch the next train due in just a few minutes. Flora made a breakfast each morning that was nothing short of incredible: homemade apple-rhubarb crumble (the rhubarb is from her garden!), quiche, a fruit cup, fresh-baked goods, juice, coffee, tea & much more. Flora also accommodated another guest’s food allergies, cooking her eggs & quiches without dairy products. Charlie was absolutely adorable and very well behaved as he waited hopefully for someone to drop a bite. The room was quite large with ample closet space, charming décor, and an equally spacious (and well-stocked!) bathroom, both of which were very clean. The House itself has a garden & patio, which we unfortunately did not get to enjoy as much as we would have liked, simply for our rather full schedule. The house is on a quiet side street off the beaten path, but is still just a short 10-minute walk to downtown and the train station. When we return to the Boston/Salem area next year, we will definitely stay with Flora & Charlie again. We cannot recommend the Northey House enough!

This is a Great B & B . We had very lovely rooms with 2 teenage boys. Flora at the Northey Bed and Breakfast was helpful and we had a fantastic stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Northey House in Salem. The accomodations were spacious, well appointed and clean. We looked forward to breakfast each morning and being greeted by Charlie. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. We are already planning a time to return.
