Anticipating a Return Trip!

This was my & my wife’s first stay at a bed & breakfast, and it certainly won’t be our last. We arrived hours before the normal check in time and were warmly greeted by Flora and her beagle Charlie and shown to our room. We were in a bit of a rush to catch a train into Boston for sightseeing, and Flora generously gave us a ride to the station so we could catch the next train due in just a few minutes.
Flora made a breakfast each morning that was nothing short of incredible: homemade apple-rhubarb crumble (the rhubarb is from her garden!), quiche, a fruit cup, fresh-baked goods, juice, coffee, tea & much more. Flora also accommodated another guest’s food allergies, cooking her eggs & quiches without dairy products. Charlie was absolutely adorable and very well behaved as he waited hopefully for someone to drop a bite.
The room was quite large with ample closet space, charming décor, and an equally spacious (and well-stocked!) bathroom, both of which were very clean.
The House itself has a garden & patio, which we unfortunately did not get to enjoy as much as we would have liked, simply for our rather full schedule. The house is on a quiet side street off the beaten path, but is still just a short 10-minute walk to downtown and the train station.
When we return to the Boston/Salem area next year, we will definitely stay with Flora & Charlie again. We cannot recommend the Northey House enough!
