Snowy Mountain Lodge, Centennial

We made the reservation on wed the 25th for the following saturday. We were told on the phone there was a $50.00 non-refundable deposit. We were forced to cancel the reservation on Friday evening because my four year old son had fell ill (he had his tonsils out a week before) I called and was told that we would be charged for the entire stay (over $1000.00) because they have a 14 day cancellation policy. How do you enforce that when the reservation was made two days before the stay? We were never notified when the reservation was made. She was rude and arrogant and all they wanted was their money. I offered to pay the first night and the deposit and was told no. The policy on the web site lists if you call to cancel within the 14 day window you will be billed 50%. We were billed 100% plus the $50.00 deposit. To add insult to injury, we were supposed to arrive on Saturday, I called to cancel on Friday so they billed my card the entire amount on Friday night after the phone call so I wouldnt beable to block the charge. We are not the only ones they have done this to. Check some of the other travel review sites. I wish I had before making this reservation. These guys are a bunch of crooks just itching for your money. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR SANITY DONT STAY AT THE SNOWY MOUNTAIN LODGE!!!!

The lodge is located in a beautiful park envioronment but the cabins are not even rustic. Their are no blinds on the windows. They did not have enough towels for all of us so we had to share. There was no closet of any hangers at all. The front porch ligth was out and even after complaining they didn't replace it so bring your own flashlight. It had a kitchen with a microwave but the plates, etc. were metal for camping so they wouldn't work in the microwave. We paid $220.00 per night for this?
