Surf & Stream Campground, Toms River

Not satisfied, nothing for kids to do have to go out for entertainment staff is ok, bald man was loud and nasty! and disrespectful, the store was clean for the , not well lit at night, lots plants and wildlife, kids liked it.......Whether we come again remains to be seen.....

I have gone here many times with my family, kids are under 14. Friday nights there is usually a movie night, free popcorn. Kids love it. Saturdays is crafts in the morning, always something cute to make and hang up. .Saturday nights could be a DJ or maybe a free BBQ - lasts til maybe 10. Music is ok, oldies/country/dance. There is a tractor ride that the kids love, they pull them around the campground in the dark. Sundays are the famous pancakes. Plain, blueberry or chocolate chip, made to order and worth the $3 or less they cost. I have always had a good time. The place is clean! Clean pool, clean bathrooms, hot shower, garbage picked up daily. As far as people being loud..... sometimes...but that is everywhere. If you were in a hotel you wouldn't hear it as much as you would someone in a nylon tent. There is a stream that runs through the campground, not for swimming. We caught catfish and snapping turtles. Fun :) Staff is vere nice. Everyone is helpful. I have never felt threatened there. Yes, police have been called in for a reason or another, but I think I have seen more police goto a hotel in Seaside. Location is awesome - close to the beaches and boardwalk, shopping outlets in Jackson and of course Great Adventure.

This campground is a peace of America, Its full of great times and great memories. Management is aces! The grounds and facilities are always clean. it has a great family vibe.........

We went with our children on Memorial Day weekend and in the middle of the night someone tried to steal our bikes. Then because we asked them not to take our bikes they threatened to shot us. After hours of threats someone called the police and this group was removed only to allow a new group of trouble makers to come in and camp and blast the music until 6 in the morning. This was the worst camping experience of my life. Unless you are planning on doing drugs all day and listening to blaring music all day and all night this is not the place for you. If you have a family and want to be safe this is not the place for you.

To the woman calling people "TRAILOR TRASH"-YOU NEED TO LEARN TO SPELL AS IT'S "TRAILER." YET YOU LIVE IN ONE! WHO ARE YOU KIDDING?YOU CAN'T AFFORD A PLACE BY THE BEACH SO YOU COME HERE AND TRY TO GET OVER AND THEN SLANDER THE PLACE. THAT'S A DISGRACE AND I HOPE YOU ARE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. YOU SHOULD RETRACT YOUR LIES TOO. AS FOR THE REST: 15yr old smokig pot?shock!? not your kid?right.prob doing same thing in bathroom .Nothing tht dsn't hpn elsewhere-it's life.It's Camping not disney folks. great, budget friendly and lots to do if u want yet quiet if u choose that.CLEAN pool, bathrooms, grounds.I dn't like to be bothered nor do I bother anyone tht's y i chose a campground and love beach-I'm here and love it.

I was not sure what to expect with the mixed reviews but was pleasantly surprised at the facilities offered by Surf and Stream. When I think of a campground it was what I expected. The camp sites, road/pathways, showers, bathrooms and pool were impeccably clean and kept up. the staff was excellent, real people working hard to make your stay a welcome one. Ray, Janince and staff did an excellent job in my book. Night time security patrols were visible and we had no theft problems or worries. Neighbors were all respectful to other campers and regulars (seasonal or permanent campers) were neighborly as well. Decent price for the site rentals. Location is very convenient to Seaside Heights / Island Beach State Park, food and fuel locations. Camp store was ample and not outrageously priced. I would go back again, no hesitation.

to the overall negative review that the campground recently received from the july 4th holiday. i have been going to this campground for the last 35 years. my father and mother took us there and i have been camping with my own children for the last 20 years. over the last couple of the years the management has changed and have really made some overall improvements. the staff is respectful the sites are clean and if you have any problems they take care of it right away. As far as rowdy customers, no one knows how a person or persons are going to act when they rent a site, the same goes if a person rents a hotel room. it also doesn't matter what race they are either. It they come in and don't have the respect for the other people there, then i wouldn't get involved trying to calm down drunken people, that is why the police are called to get involved and try to calm the situation. you can't put down a wonderful establishments hard work for a bunch of drunken, disrespectful people. you were given a refund for your visit there and you stayed another night and also went to the holiday get together and ate the free food they gave to everyone. so if you were so upset that u feared for your life then you should have taken your refund, added your extra money and left that night or the following morning. i am sorry for the staff and the campground that they had to take such a negative hit for the behavior of other peoples actions

When are they getting rid of the skunks on the campground? Then the location will be worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Came here for Memorial Day Week and would never come back. Friday nite cops came over to scort people out. Next day 2 groups of Hispanic people had a rave party until 9am. It was a lot of drugs, alcohol and sex and bad language in front of the kids. After many calls someone came over to apperantly take care of the problem. Sunday nite same horror show. We called to complaint and they just came to talk to the group and nothing was done. We were scared for our lives. My kids spent the nite crying scared with the situation. We got harrassed by the Hispanics and we told managent and nothing was done about. We are here waiting for day lite so we can get out of here to never return

Surf n stream is cheap. It does meet your budget. With all dat said and done. What's more? Me and family went there for a weekend getaway for MEMORIAL DAY weekend.Our first night there there were promblems. Management had to call the cops to escort people out. To, a new group of poeple camp in. They had set up, and that's where the prombles began. Drugs sex alcohol drinking began. Loud music from the morning until 9:00a.m. sunday. Sunday night it began all over again. Management was know about what was going on since saturday what was going on. No, one did anything to ecsort them out. Poeple were just leaving upset at management, because they did nothing. There was a woman who had more balls they all the men in the whole entire camp site. That actual did something and yelled at the top of her lungs, what they were doing was wrong and they were going to get kicked of the campsite. Let me just say this "NOTHING WAS DONE. I MEAN NOTHING"..... My family and I were in danger. After me and my wifey, go speak to the security to complaint again in person. When the danger and threats had began. It was horrible. The want to set our tents on fire. And kicked our tent. Just to reminder, we were with other people who came with us for the first time. And, they felt the same. We will not go back again we won't recommend surf n streams to no one and not to othe friends and we won't even recommend this place to our worst enemies that how serious it is. There is no respect. It's not family oriented. Management is bad of all bad. It's the worst. Spend the extra money going to a place where it cost thirty fourty dollars more, or what ever the cost is. Because, your li life is priceless. And your safety is more important.
