Driftwood Motel, The, Point Pleasant Beach

I have been staying at the Driftwood for several years now. Every time that I go I enjoy myself more and more. The rooms are clean, with great views of the ocean. The staff are wonderful and available to give you anything you may need in your stay. The hotel itself is set in an ideal location; being right on the ocean with a private beach, and a swimming pool with many lounge areas ,if your like me and dont like to go in the ocean water :) It is a perfect distance from the main activities of the boardwalk, close enough to walk but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet at night time.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago with my family and really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are very clean and cute. The service was exceptional and everyone was very friendly. It also is the perfect location. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back!

Most criticisms of the Driftwood stem from the furnishings being dated - but they are updating constantly (bathroom tiles - ac uints etc.) This is a family run place. Very casual and laid-back. Clean and cozy with great service and amenities (beachfront pool, snack bar, beachfront patio for congregating and hanging out, porches, balconies, etc.) that sound good on paper and don't dissappoint in person. It's not your cookie-cutter Motel, so the layouts of some of the rooms outside the standard two-double-bed courtyard rooms, are unsual but very functional. Can't beat the quick walk to the Boardwalk so leave the car if you can (not finding parking is infrequent but possible as it's a tight lot - extra parking around the corner less than a hundred feet away). Just the right mix of affordability and convenience for Pt. Pleasant. If you have young kids - this is your place - unquestionably. We've been going since the kids were babies, and when they could not swim in the surf and were bored with sandcastles - we retreated conveniently to the pool patio. Glad to say that finally changed this year as they were able to venture into the surf. One of the nicest things about the Driftwood is the evening patio hangout. Bring takeout food and your cooler and just sit and hang by the ocean, fly kites, and talk to neighbors after a day on the beach or evening or afternoon at Jenkinson Boardwalk and Aquarium. Plenty of tables and chairs. It's a family tradition for us as it seems to be for many who use the place for mini-reunions.

It's a nice little place with a good location. We liked that we could see both the ocean and the lake from our room - though most rooms have no view. The woman checking us in was very friendly. The bathroom was small but super clean. Our room had a changing area where we could leave all our suitcases. Parking is tricky. Spaces are small and most vehicles very large. Bring a small car if you can.

We had a great time we had our family reunion here we booked many rooms and the driftwood was such a perfect place it was very family friendly they acomadated all our special needs and to sit by there pool and watch the kids on the beach was perfect and the snack bar guy is the funiest guy ever cant wait to go back

We liked everything about the motel. Everything was clean. The staff was great. They made you feel right at home. Seeing the dolphins in the morning while on the deck having morning coffee was a great experience. The motel is close to everything. This will be our third time down since June. Can't wait.

Considering you have a private beach and pool, you are getting your value. With little time in the room, it did not matter that the room is small and no bathtub, it's value is cleaniness, service oriented, pleasant environment, and accomodating staff. The other guests are respectful and friendly. I would recommend this motel and would absolutely go back.

Old and dumpy. They have a lot of nerve charging the rates they do for what you get! Never again!

It was a great location and the people who worked their were nice but there were too many college aged kids there. My sister and I brought my two nieces age 8 and 13 and we did not get any sleep because several of the rooms had younger guests partying on the balconies. We were actuaully woken up one night because they were banging on our window at 2am! My nieces were scared and it was very unfortunate. I will never stay there again and I suggest if you plan on sleeping while on vacatioin, you stay somewhere else.
