Unaccomodating to extenuating circumstances

We made reservations to stay at Round Top campground for 1 evening in December 2009. The weekend of our reservation happened to be the weekend of the large snowstorm that hit the east coast. Round Top called me the day of our reservation to ask if we were coming because they were having issues plowing. We understood this to mean that they were unable to service our reservation due to the snow. At the same time we were unable to leave Washington.
I called them in January to see if we could move the reservation to January and all I was offered was if I paid for another night they would give us the 2nd night free. That doesn't help us as we are unable to stay for 2 nights. Round Top was not fully booked for the day of our original reservation so we did not preclude them from taking additional revenue and they are not fully booked for the weekend we would like to stay so once again they are not missing out on possible revenue. They are completely unwilling to accomodate our request which I do not believe to be demanding.
While they do have a no refund policy I am not asking for a refund, just a raincheck. They continue to refer to their policy and that their hands are tied. While I understand such a policy may exist to prevent no-shows, the lack of consideration for such an unusual weather event just shows that they have a complete lack of care for their customers.
