The Sifting Sands Motel, Ocean City

We rented our room throught a realtor. That experience and the room are wonderful. Our room is a condo (owned by someone other than Sifting Sands, although located with the other rooms). We have had nothing but rudeness by "manager". Would not let us park on the premises,even though I have a parking pass for an assigned space. Wanted us to park in another lot a few blocks away because he had "other customers" coming. Not a friendly atmosphere. Manager Arnie was VERY rude to my husband. Next year when we come back, it will definetely not be to this motel. I do plan on filing a complaint with my realtor. They definetely need to know how their customers are being treated. I wish this condo was at another location because it is clean, well taken care of, and much nicer than the pictures on the realtor web site.

We stayed at the Sifting Sands Motel last weekend July 25th for 3 nights. Our room #14 wasn't too bad, but we walked by #12 and peeked inside and it was GORGEOUS! Everything in there was brand new, with a huge flat screen TV, a really nice kitchen with microwave, a completely tiled floor, a recessed ceiling with lights in it and the people said it had a King Bed and a really comfortable queen Murphy Bed that folded out from behind the sofa. Our room looked terrible compared to that one, but it was still OK for us due to the bunk-beds for our kids, which they loved.The pool is really clean and the location is perfect on the corner of 9th St. and Ocean, just a block to the beach. We suspect because the property is now a "condo-motel", each unit is owned seperately and each owner fixes their unit up differently. Just peeking inside a few units (like #12) showed us that. So all n' all a great value for the money, but when we go back, we're going to look at the rooms first because they're not all the same!

We took one look at the room and asked and got our money back. It was gross, room was tiny, deprssing. At 4PM there was a huge pile of dirty laundry in front of our room. The place did not seem clean, very noisy, no privacy. Pictures on web misleading.

The room (#18) was clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed using the kitchenette with small fridge, stove and microwave. Dishes and silverware were even supplied! We had a free parking spot, which was handy, since we could walk to the beach, boardwalk, shopping and restaurants. Beach tags were included and the pool had been recently updated. Was very nice! It even had an outdoor barbeque grill. We plan to stay in #18 again!

This place was terrible!! Rooms were small ... no closet or even hooks, so we had no place to hang our wet bathing suits. Only a shower stall with no light or exhaust. Pool was in poor condition. Only 2 stairways to exit from the second floor ... not good for an emergency exit. Extremely tight parking ... unless you have a Mini or Harley. DIRTY room & bathroom. Did not have maid service 1 of the 3 nights. His excuse was that he only had 1 maid to clean all of the rooms. This was a Saturday morning!!!! The web site was misleading at the time I was looking. They have updated the photos now. Never, will I go to this motel again. Unless they rip it down and rebuild ... MAYBE!

We stayed at the Sifting Sands for two nights and enjoyed every minute of it!!! The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and the location was perfect. The good thing that I took notice of after the first night was you could not hear anyone else through the walls. This was our first visit to Ocean City and it was a great experince. The location was only two blocks from the beach and boardwalk. It was perfect. We will be back!!!!!!!!!
