Red Mill Inn, Lewes

My family and I had a nice weekend @ Red Mill Inn. It was a great value and the staff were very pleasant. At first I was afraid to make a reservation after reading some of the previous reviews. I didn't feel some of those reviews were fair so I decided to give my opinion. Im glad I took the chance on staying there! In fact, Im going back again in August and going to stay there again. Im on a very tight budget! I was looking to go to the beach and wanted to spend as little as possible. Sure it's a little dated but what do you expect for their reasonable prices. If you want a Five Star Hotel be prepared to pay for it!!! Best part is... its close to the beach, it had a spacious room w/fridge and microwave and a outdoor pool. Only down fall is I have a family of 5 and there were only 2 bath towels. I asked for more but they were unable to accomodate because they were being laundered and I would have to wait at least 2 hours. So bring extra towels gals & guys.

It wasnt that bad. A little out dated and musty but a good place when your on a budget. Ive been in much worse! It only cost us $50 for the night.

2 adults - last minute room hunt... Likes: It had a/c, a pool, hot water in the shower, good prices, they didn't require a 2 night stay like most places in the summer season, smoking permitted in certain rooms, we were allowed to use the pool "after hours", not far from stores/shopping/beaches, and the staff was pleasant. Dislikes: Decor (curtains, bed spreads, carpet) needs updated, beds aren't that comfortable, lighting in the room needs improvement, window locked but was a tad shabby (no screen and the lock needs tightened), pillows are flat, and we had to ask for more towels. Would stay there again when we take the kids along, (because it's affordable), but if it's just us adults I'd rather stay some place a little nicer.

We were looking basically for a place that had air conditioning and was cheap since this was a weekend at the beach and not our major vacation. All the chain places were booked, this had openings. I read "iffy" reviews on this place, and then on Yahoo saw some decent ones on it. Figured we'd roll the dice and go since we weren't going tp spend any time there other than sleeping. The place has a lot of potential, and probably for a very minor investment it could be great, that being said, here you go......... Check in was ok, girl thought we weren't being charged enough for the room and questioned why the person who took the reservation didn't charge more. I told her we were told it was $400 for 3 nights, and that we were NOT going to be paying more than what we were promised - she backed down and did the check in. The outside of the hotel looked nice other than the grass needing to be cut, but when I looked around the parking lot there were quite a few "questionable" characters sitting in their construction vehicles drinking beer and staring at everyone (not sure what was going on here). Got to the room (2 queen beds and pull out sofa), and at first glance didn't look bad. Musty smell due to the air being off in the room. Started looking around a little closer, noticed the tub was dirty, shower head was cracked and spraying onto the wall causing the wall to have bubbles under the wallpaper. Light above sink was missing a bulb, only 1 towel in the room, bedsheets on both beds had holes in them, one smelled of body odor which really grossed us out and IT WAS NOT OURS! In the AM went to the lobby for the breakfast (coffee and cereal), and noticed that the place stank of cigarettes. Noticed the guy behind the counter smoking up a storm, also noticed the NO SMOKING signs on the door. Guess that didnt apply to him. Talked with a lady in the lobby that morning, and she told us that there were 4 police cars in the parking lot at 10PM. No idea what happened, but it didn't surprise me looking at the clientele at this place. Bottom line - look for another place until new ownership takes over this place. Believe the bad reviews, they are accurate. I have NEVER stayed in a place as bad as this in my life - nothing even close!

I have stayed at the red mill over the past four years and each summer averaged 5 stays a year, each 3-5 days. we never had a problem with the service, except one time. a new guy was at the desk and was argumentative but he was fired the next day when we told the manager. it's not a hilton, but the beds are comfy and some of the decor is older, but the pool is decent, the breakfast is fine and location is great. we've meta lot of neat peopel there. if you are on a budget, stay here. they've been great! we're going again this august and i look forward to it. it's close to everything and quiet. only bad thing, not many places deliver there.

We just spent one night at the Red Mill Inn, and found the accomodations to be very nice for the price. We didn't have a resevation and went there because we had our small dog with us. The staff was very accomodating and the room we were given was clean and quiet. We would definately go backfor another stay.

My likes were nice room but dislike were definately customer service. Well you definately get what you pay for, we arrived and got settled went to the pool left our dog in the room (for 20 mins). Came back, our dog was barking and a note was left on the door to see the office. We went to the office and immediately notified that we need to leave and we will be refunded due to our dog barking for an hour & 1/2. I went in the office asked for the manager and he was not available for 20 minutes. So I asked that he be called to discuss this and I was told that he wasn't answering. With that said I explained to the receptionist, that were treated rudely and unfairly. She continued to get unreasonable and I asked that we be contacted by the manager, in which we were never contacted. After about 20 minute we packed up & were refunded then left. Hopefully - the receptionist will take customer service classes and anger management as well. Please if your dog barks or if you dont care how your treated this is the place for you. When we left we stayed at a CHOICE HOTEL and they were great. Happy hoteling.....

We stayed there for Memorial Day Week End we had very nice rooms with two Queen Size beds, Microwave Oven, Refridgerator with High Speed Internet my Kids enjoyed a lot during their stay, in breakfast they offer Coffee, Tea, Orange Juice, three different Kinds of Cereils (froot loops, Cheerios, raisen Bran) and Donuts as well, I did not agree with reviews above,thanks

Beautiful outlook, nice calm and quite, right on Rt 1, not very far away from beach neither very near because noise is another factor u wanna be away

We've stay there 3 time in 3 years every time for 10 to 12 nights and for the price it's ok,,, it's not a Hilton ,you can say it's average on everything,..... bargain your price if you stay for a week or more, for 85.00$ a night a this time of the year it's a very good price.
