Burgundy House Inn is now Closed

The building has undergone a complete remodel and will be reopening this summer as Ma(i)sonry, which will offer a unique lifestyle experience in wine country. The setting will be reminiscent of a home or a private club, framing a highly edited collection of furnishings and artwork. The furnishings, ranging from 16th century to mid-twentieth century, will be paired with contemporary works crafted by today's top designers. This atmosphere will serve as a stylized backdrop for the appreciation of limited production boutique wines - including Blackbird Vineyards' portfolio of Pomerol-inspired blends.

Spend the extra $$ and be comfortable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
If they offered the rooms for $5 I may think about going back. Unbelievably rude staff. Customer service offered no help in getting an extra key and yelled at us for using the community mini-fridge. The sprinklers were turned on during breakfast (guess we're sitting inside today). The doors don't latch. The walls are paper thin - you can hear every word of normal neighboring conversation. The bathrooms are insanely small and have horrible water pressure. The rooms have no ceiling fans and no air conditioning. The front of the house is right on the street, so if you open a window it's like the cars are driving at the foot of the bed. Overall it was unpleasant and uncomfortable. Not recommended!

Don't bother
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/06
We paid over $200 dollars for this tiny room with no wardrobe and a poor bathroom. The biggest problem was that we could hear every word and conversation of the guests below us - they weren't loud guests, but there is no sound proofing at all. We had the worst nights sleep because they went to bed late and got up at 6am. We complained to the house keeper who tried to make out the guests were partying and the house is old - I asked if they advertise that for over $200 per night you can only get 5 hours sleep. I heard the place is up for sale, so they are obviously not bothered about ensuring the stay of their guests is a good one.

Solid and comfortable.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/06
Staff was friendly and rooms comfortable. We originally had rooms at the Bordeaux House, but it was so bad that after one night, we had to leave. This was much more acceptable! Common areas were cozy. It's not a 5-star hotel, but I would not hesitate to stay there again.
