Grafton Lodge is a new, recently extended English bed and breakfast Inn with a difference. While offering the full facilities of a B&B, you have the privacy of a small Inn across the courtyard from the main house with your own access. They offer a luxury European style buffet breakfast in their new breakfast room. During the day you can walk across the courtyard to the screened garden lounge, or take a relaxing stroll in the landscaped gardens and explore the private woodland walking trail.

Cant wait to visit!!!!
By Carolyn, 07/17/09
I have not stayed at the Grafon Lodge, however my son has been there several times. He is planning his Honeymoon there, he said the breakfast is wonderful and so are the owners and staff. He said although it may not be a usually Honeymoon place, it is so peaceful and the area is beautiful. I plan to stay as soon as possible.

Very nice B & B
By David, 05/17/09
The atmosphere and hospitality of the lodge was very nice. I thought it was well priced especially for that area. The owners are very friendly, hard working and down home type of people. There is no question about staying there again. We hope to go back again next year.

What balcony view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/07
Although, the Grafton is in a great location there is no view or a balcony. We parked down hill and had to walk to the rooms. If arriving at night bring a flash light, there is no adequate lighting on the backside and stairwells. The window unit was noisy and kept us up half the night. The breakfast was great! The owners were nice and tried to please. The rooms are quaint but lacks telephone and clocks. So you have no idea what time it is and you might miss breakfast.

Absolutely loved the area
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/05
The owners of the Grafton Lodge and cabins in Lake Lure, North Carolina are lovely people. When we arrived after a 5 hour rainy journey from Atlanta, Georgia for our 5 day holiday we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our hosts made sure we were settled in and even went to the local store to buy us milk and coffee! Later in the week, the owner placed an order for a pizza for us when we didn't want to go back out in the rain, AND delivered it! Couldn't ask for a nicer couple. My friend and I wanted a cabin in the woods, close to Lake Lure, and secluded. The Nuthatch cabin met a lot of our expectations. It was on an accessible winding road on the side of a incline. A large deck on the back of the cabin overlooked a heavily wooded steep slope that offered cool shade, soothing vistas and privacy. The cabin itself was new and fresh. It had a central area that served as the living/kitchen space and a bedroom on each side, with a bathroom in between. The main bedroom had a queen size bed and a hot tub. Fun! Everything was clean and nicely furnished, offering all the amenities we needed, although we would have liked an airconditioner in the master bed room. The single wall unit in the living/kitchen area was unfortunately noisy and just not adequate to cool the whole place. Important in the middle of July in the low 90's! Lake Lure was within a ten minute drive; a beautiful man made Lake. The public beach had an admission charge that was reasonable enough. What I liked best was that the area has not become commercialized and the town of Lake Lure still is "small town" in character. We found several restaurants that served good, reasonably priced food with friendly people running them. Don't forget to try the Riverwatch Restaurant for a fine meal, and a beautiful view of the Lake. The Broad Rocky River runs along side the road leading into Lake Lure and it and Chimney Rock Mountain are places that are must-see. All in all, for a first-time cabin dweller, I would highly recommend the Grafton Lodge and cabins. You won't be disappointed.
