Perfect Highlands Inn
We were at the Inn at Half Mile Farm the last weekend in July, 2009, and could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The food was exquisite and the inn itself is laid back, quiet, peaceful, and a place of remarkable natural beauty. It is surrounded by woods,a lake and a few magnificent private homes. The staff is attentive but appropriately restrained. It isn't a cheap place to stay, but it's a damn good value. The other guests were politely restrained, also -- just right for what is essentially a very romantic, elegantly rustic venue. They left us alone and we left them alone. The pool was a perfect spot for catching mid-day sun, and it is quite near every restaurant we enjoy but feels miles removed.
