We have just returned from a tent camping trip to Carolina Beach Family Campground. We had a great experience which reinforced the "Don't judge a book by it's cover" saying. Like most, our first reaction was dubious, wondering if the campground was well cared for. We soon learned via interacting with Judy, the manager, that caring for the campground and the campers is 5 Star. The facilities were clean and well kept. The campground was packed this Memorial Day weekend. We met many wonderful people. We learned that many returned to the campground for generations, others like us learned of it on line. What a wonderful collection and variety of people, vehicles and tents of many ages, races, and economic status. Our choice and circumstance make camping our primary mode of vacationing. Thanks owner and staff at the Carolina Beach Family Campground for providing the place for us to enjoy the attractions of Carolina Beach.
I have stayed there many, many times. people i am sorry if u had a bad experience there. But u r camping..........if you wanted a hotel, then maybe you should have checked into one. I will continue to go there as long as there is space available for my family. Love the owners,,,,good luck to Judy and the gang there.
I have been camping in this campground with my family since i was 8 yrs old. I refuse to go anywhere else, this campground has been here since the 60's. I'm sorry that some people have had a bad experience. I have 2 toddlers and I wouldn't take them anywhere else to camp.
Everything is very dirty, water smells like sulfur, doors in the bathroom can't be locked, showers are gross, giant red roaches everywhere. Would not even go near their swimming pool.
Looks like a trailer park, lots of trailers that have obviously been there for a while.
Not the best place to camp with family for sure, lots of suspicious people drinking and making noise, loose dogs.
The service was OK, no comments.
Located in in some woods, about 3 miles away from the beach and any kind of civilization.
I would expect more for $27 a night in a tent, considering that it's just a tiny piece of ground with no water hookup.
You get what you pay for here! Very unfriendly grounds keeper "old man river". Tried to tell us we had one less site than we did, was rude about it. We reserved these sites months and months in advance just to be sure. And paid for them!!!!! Nasty dirty place, everything from the sites to the bathrooms, to the campers that are there! Red ants hills every where, broken glass all over the ground!!! Sites are all sand and dirt, no grass what so ever.
Don't waste your money, go else where!
The place was pretty gross - lots of really old RVs that definitely hadn’t been moved in the past decade, mangy dogs tied to those mangy trailers, women yelling in their trailers (I’m making myself believe it was the TV and not kids or dogs). Oh, and the water tasted like sulphur.
