You Cannot Go Wrong,
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/11
Now i have no idea at all what people are complaining about this place. I have been going here since I was a little kid and I still love this place. I'm a Houston native so anything besides splash town is great. If you are from Houston you will definately love this place since parking is free, the cost is the same as splashtown, and you can bring your own cooler (you really can just leave your cooler anywhere, no one ever bugs it). I have no idea what people are complaining about, I recently went and it was better than i remembered and I hadn't been there in about 5 years. The place is large, the water is cold so it feels great compared to the texas heat, and also the older part of schlitterbahn is quite shady (still wear sunscreen though). To be honest anyone that complains about this place is either A) just someone that can't have a fun time period or B) is out of there mind. It's a great place for kids and also teenagers heck even adults can have fun if you make the most of it. The waits are kinda long but you have to expect that from the worlds best water park (thats why i got a 2 day pass for my weekend, one day at the old park, the other day at the new.) I highly recommend this, you can't go wrong, great price, nice area, and the people there are always nice to me. You will have fun, if not you are one grouch.

DISGUSTING
By M, 8/6/11
Didnt like ANYTHING about this park. Way to overpriced for the buc. Lines to long, people were getting overheated. The price of food was ridiculouse. No parking, the water was disgusting. Not enough tubes. I cant imagine anybody going there wanting to go back. Will not ever go again, what a disapointment for all the hype.

What a rip-off !!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/11
I'm sorry but $90 bucks for a water park where you have to stand in line for over an hour just to float in the water for 15 minutes and with the ride desigb being un-safe. They have staff stationed at severalf locations of the original park water rides to prevent you from hitting the sides and/or to keep moving (you get caught in some of the current locaions and can not get moving on your on) The staff could not answer simple questions such al "Where are the lockers located?". The newer park is somewhat better but there is so much consturction that it is a mess. Lockers are 1 foot X 1 foot and cost $9 bucks. We were very disapointed and left early. I suggest visiting any other water park in texas before goint here.

just saying....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/4/11
im not really writting a review, but i am one of the lifeguard that work at Schlitterbahn and ive noticed some of the reviews say something about rashes from the rivers and i know why: all of our Main Park (except for the hot tubs and kiddi pools) uses untreated river water from the comal. all of our signs says that we do. if you are unused to swimming in river water like that, then you have a chance of a small rash. im very sorry that those incidences ruined your day :( i hope you guys will still come visit us and not hold it against us the next time. we all try very hard to avoid incidents but sadly that is one that we can not control.

ITCHY RASH! 3 VISITS- 3 RASHES!!! NEWBRAHNFELDS
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/19/11
DID NOT LIKE: We have come to Schlitterbahn every year for the last 3 years. Every year without fail, I get an awefull itchy rash that takes at least 3 weeks to finally be rid of! Been to the doc with it. Thought it was scabies or a heat rash. Nope. My son has it worse than ever this time. I will probably take him to the doc on Monday. Its been 3 weeks already. NOT COOL. I dont think they use chlorine in the Lazy river. That may be the problem. Plus all those tubes that everyone else uses. Not sure but I wont be getting in again! ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?? WHAT I DID LIKE: My kids had a good time. We went on a weekday this time.

Rash on skin from Schlitterbahn
By people, 8/19/10
Went to Schlitterbahn, New Brunsfel, Texas on August 15, 2010. Noticed that I started getting a rash on my leg and did NOT have it before I went into the park. Just wondering if anyone else has a rash from that day? I'm from Texas and go there every year. This is the first time this has happened to me.

good and bad things about it
By Guest, 8/8/10
This is my second year with season passes, overall I like it better than Fiesta Texas and Seaworld's waterparks because those get packed with no elbow room even til closing time, I go usually later in the day to Schlitterbahn and can find some enough rides and pools that have short lines although the funnest ones always have longer lines. Some complaints I have is this waterpark is it is a bit expensive but still seems kind of old and dirty in places, the kids pools are easy to lose your kids in with all the blind spots, this "family" waterpark needs to have family friendly music-not with cussing as they have it now, and there needs to be more non-smoking sections (there are none) we don't live in 1950 everyone knows smoking is totally unhealthy. The park seems a bit dirty and not very modernized except for a couple of the rides in the newer areas which really make up for the bad parts, they don't have uphill water tube rides at the other waterparks in Six Flags and Seaworld, also the hot tubs are a great idea although usually are just warm not hot. This is a good park for older kids once you get the hang of how schlitterbahn is set up but I hope they edit their music and turn it into a non-smoking park. This place also gives you a lot of exercise which is a good thing.

Not the best experience~
By Kay Wilson, 8/7/10
The Bahn side could use an update in the resort area for the price you pay to "stay where you play". Rooms are old, bedding is uncomfortable & dated, the flooring is dirty and in need of replacing in areas. Room is furnished with t.v. remotes that have duck tapes on the back, in fact on our last night of stay one of the remotes started smoking, leaking acid, warped and eventually burnt up. Door knob fell off in the morning, and it took maintenance all day long to come and fix it at 6:30pm. A huge safety problem when you have an active 20 mo. old toddler bouncing around. Park smells like garbage in several areas. Swimming pools were loaded with chlorine that gave my baby a rash on her skin. I couldn't believe I was at Schlitterbahn for the price I paid them. Terrible experience~

What a waster of time and money!!!
By Cheryl, 6/30/10
Did the Travel shows pay people to say how great this place is? The Master Blaster lasted no time compared to the 2 hour wait. The warnings about the ride were all the way at the top, my boyfriend's back hurt after riding and so did my neck. The website does not indicate that you have to take a shuttle around the park, which lead to long lines by the time we got to the rides we wanted to ride. The staff was rude. The only true thing about the place is that it is an easy ride from Austin. We will not return and wish we could get our money back!
