STAY HERE FOR THE FELLOW RV'ers
By ,
The RV'ers in the park make this place enjoyable. They go out of their way to say hello, ask where you're from and tell you what's going on in the park. There are more activities than you can keep up with. Shuffleboard, water & walking aerobics, horse shoes, golf (off site), bowling (off site), pot lucks, free continental breakfasts, hot breakfast, grilled lunches, ice cream socials, poker nights, happy hour, Texas hold 'em, regular bingo, crazy bingo, frog races, campfires, bible study, movie nights, and more. PARTIES/DINNERS FOR: Christmas, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, End of Season. FACILITIES - Heated pool, exercise room (don't expect much), computer room, billiards room, TV room, card room, dog run, social hall, laundry, showers/rest rooms, free Wi-Fi (slow and spoty depending on site), Sattelite reception best in open areas, TV antenna reception good (Tampa-Sarasota area stations), cable TV/internet available through local provider. GREAT LOCATION: near Tampa/St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Sarasota, Ana Maria Island, hospitals, beaches, food, shopping, entertainment, Grapefruit League baseball. NEGATIVES: MANAGEMENT! It changed again this year, mid-season. Two weeks after the new management "Team" was in place, half of the team was leaving the park. The owner is personable and comes around a few days a week, but keeps missing the mark on who is hired to run the place. Obviously, he hires people that can do paperwork and groundskeeping. He forgets that the people in the office are the campers first, and most important contact. Previous managers were abrasive. Workcampers in office continue to be brusk, but we were assued at least some would not be working again next season. They worry more about where visitors/potential campers park than being warm and welcoming. Heaven forbid you should park near the "Information Center" board or walk into the office from the social hall rather than the front door! Ask too many questions and they seem annoyed. The OFFICE needs to develop a "Customer Service/Customer First/Customer Focused" attitude. In spite of the "Management/Office" issues, you will have a GREAT time in this park.

PET FRIENDLY , Cabin Rental is what brought me here . The LOCATION is hwat has kept me here . Close to everything and yet far enough away from everthing . 18 minutes away from Anna Maria Island Beach .5 minutes away from large shopping and dinning areas . Many great resturants nearby . 30 minutes to both Downtown Tampa and Sarasota . The pier fishing on the OLD sushine bridge is GREAT!

Palmetto Paradise

Read the reviews - USMC89 must really be a Jar Head. I was part of a group, 19 rigs, that just completed a fantastic long weekend at Frog Creek. We've been to many campgrounds with our group and by ourselves and I can honestly say the experience at this campground was just great. Management, staff and residents could not be more friendly and accomodating. Saw no evidence of any of the negative comments made by USMC89. I am glad we don't come across many people like him. I for one highly recommends this cozy and friendly campground.

The best value for your buck
By ,
Real southern hospitality, clean and friendly. I have been coming to this RV campground for the last 8 years and from the begining have enjoyed every moment. They have plenty to do and the best part is I am close to shoping ,resturants, routes 75,301 41 and tucked away from all the sounds of civilization. This is one of those jewels one hears about. The park is appointed well with tropical plants and neatly maintained by staff and not by a lawn a service running through once a month just to get the job done. Here the staff takes the time to speak with you and not talk at you. I have met and become friends with many fine people, we stay in touch by email when we are not here, they are like family you can choose, And of course there are all the other stuff, heated pool, shuffel board court, horse shoes, darts, card games and crafts. This is where I met my new and old friends. but I have not met yah-a-l-l, ( I come from MA and I get to say that here), When you come in ask for Paul everyone knows me here.

Very Nice Quaint Park
By ,
Have been at Frog Creek since 2008 and have enjoyed every minute. The park is small and well kept. Have stayed in other parks that had hundreds of people and just felt like another number. Here it feels like a real neighborhood with friendly people to talk with and look out after one anothers property. Feels like you're out in the country with the beautiful oaks, the creek, for fishing & canoes available, very nice walking trails and a great dog park. However, I can be in Bradenton (10 mins) Ellenton Outlet Mall (10 mins) Sarasota or St Pete (less than 30 mins) so it's a very convenient location. I would recommend this park for the cleanliness and price to everyone. Great weekend getaway or spend the whole season.

Are you people talking about the same campground?
By ,
First off manager change in late 2009? What did they do change titles, because it has been the same people since before August of 09. Secondly, Spanish moss giving it a deep south feel? Bug and stick filled moss that has to picked up and off your rv almost daily not to mention the scratches it leaves on your vehicle. A full winter calendar? If you enjoy the 3 or so activities (illegal poker games, darts and horseshoes) then yes, it is jam packed. Anyone calling frog creek a river must have grown up in the Mohave desert, because calling it 10 feet wide is a stretch. The pools is indeed warm, about 85-90 degrees most of the time and clean (minus the ants, bees, and leaves floating along the top). The grounds are indeed quite meticulously maintained. The service (electrical) is a whole different story. I don't even think permits were pulled nor do I think they had licensed personnel performing the work. I've seen 2 bus bars burn up and hear of several others, so check your fire extinguisher before hooking up at this place. As far as the rules go... Most of the comments here give a fairly accurate assessment of the rule situation of this campground. The rule sheet here is a micromanager's dream. "all landing blocks must be synthetic, 1 cup of detergent per load of laundry, shirts must be worn at all times other than when actively swimming, no glass bottles whatsoever(even on your site), no fires on your campsite(I thought that was kind of a staple when camping)" these are just a few and they're not even the most ridiculous. If you want to get an idea of how this campground really is then don't take my word for it. Just heed my advice and book by the day, and stay hooked up because you probably won't want to stay long. Leave the kids at home too as it was said BY THE MANAGER "I can't stand kids... We shouldn't allow children here." happy trails.

By ,
I have been reading some of the feedback. I stay at frog creek alot and the Management changed late 09. I think you would love this park. They do have rules but you must to have a nice campground. Anyone who can't have fun at frog creek would not be happy anywhere they go.

Campground feeling in the country,,, well, almost!
By ,
I found this place delightful. The oak trees are draped with spanish moss giving it a "deep south" feeling with a vacation place flair. The calendar for the winter season I am told is filled with a variety of activities to participate in. Best of all was the fishing from the river banks and being able to canoe out to the bay. Then of course the white swim beaches are really close enough to catch a sunrise or sunset walk. The pool was fabulously warm and clean surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. The whole park was very well kept. It did look like the workers take pride in their work. I was given a list of rules and "camping etiquette" when I checked in and was asked and very easily able to abide by them. Really, the things written just made sense to me. Everyone has different reasons for camping in a place like this one instead of a park where there are more park models and more year long residents. I came here to celebrate the beauty of Florida... hope you will agree.

So glad to never have to see this place again!!
By ,
Will never return to the Frog Creek Campground. Ever. The management is rude to most people and they act like tyrants as far as I am concerned and having spoken to people around the park during my tenure, I am not the only one with this opinion. Rules that are not conspicuously posted, nor agreed to are enforced; on some people, but not all. Some will be yelled at for such "infractions" as passing through vacant sites, but see others habitually park their golf carts and vehicles in them with no reprecussion. The laundry facilities are on par; if the theme is circa 1972. The bathrooms are always clean, but the showers leave much to be desired in the way of temperature selection and shower heads remaining in place during showering. Until the end of the current managerial regime, you will not catch me in this park. I'll be right next door at Fiest Grove, anyone with a half a mind is welcome to join me.
