Anna Maria Island's Pirates Den, Holmes Beach

We arrived to find our hostess friendly & out place ready though we arrived two hours early. Maree was a great hostess...helpful and lots of ideas about what we should see & do with the kids. She loaned us beach toys & lawn chair to take to the beach. Even extra beach towels. Our home away from home was cute clean & convenient. Decor is Old Florida style. Affordable. Casual. Relaxed. We had a roomy two bed, two bath apartment just one short block from the beautiful gulf beach. The pool was clean and pleasant. I really don't know what else you could ask for, except a back door opening on the beach maybe. We'll definitely go back next year. Thanks Maree & by the way, we did see the amazing manatees up at Apollo Beach on our way to the airport.

We love the quietness of the place. There are not a lot of apartments, so there's lots of privacy. The pool is very nice and always kept clean. There are no busy roads to cross to get to the beach, which is only one block away. The property owners are very friendly. The rates are very reasonable compared to other places near the beach. You'll love Pirate's Den!

We spent 5 days at the Pirates Den last August and had a wonderful time. The price is excellent, especially considering you're right at the beach. Publix is around the corner and literally at a walking distance. At that time our children were 12 months and 12 years old, and they both had a great time. They enjoyed playing in the pool, which has plenty of toys for everybody to use. You can go get as many clean towels and beach towels as you need, and there's even beach umbrellas, chairs and toys to take to the beach - all free to use. The apartment (we stayed in #5) was clean and the beds were comfy. We cooked in several times because everything you need is right there in your kitchen, including coffee, salt, herbs, etcetera. We visit Florida at least once a year, and now that we've discovered this place, we'll definitely be back next time. Thanks Maree and Dave!

This was our 4th visit and that says it all. We love it. A beautiful island,lovely accommodation - a home away from home.Dave and Maree are perfect hosts with nothing too much trouble. We will be returning as soon as possible.

We have made four trips to the Anna Maria Island area and this is without a doubt, the best place we've stayed. Our host, Maree, welcomed us at the door and showed us to Cottage #6; large and airy with two overstuffed couches in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need to make a homemade meal if you so choose. The bathroom is large and clean, as is the rest of the unit. A private patio off the kitchen was perfect for our morning coffee, still relaxing in our jammies. The bedroom has a comfy queen bed with a large walk in closet. The beach is just moments away, so still accessible without the beach traffic noise outside of your window. Pirates Den is definately a hidden gem. The rates are incredibly reasonable and Maree and Dave could not have been more accommodating. There is no doubt we will be back to "The Island" and will definately stay at Pirates Den.

After reading through nearly every review, we had almost concluded that it sounded too good to be true. However, from the moment we arrived to the day we left, we enjoyed this treasure of a place. Dave and Maree made a good experience into a great one and we look forward to another visit as soon as possible. Thank you Dave and Maree.

It was a great, quiet, relaxing place to enjoy a vacation with the family. The service was fantastic, we were satisfied with everything we needed. The rooms were very clean, neat and sanitary. I would definetly return with my family without any second thoughts. We can't wait to return!

This place was incredible! Tropical and serene. Safe and comforting. If quiet enjoyment is what you are looking for this is it! Hospitality is at the top!! You are at the beach literally in a matter of seconds. We will definitely return.

This is a perfect place to stay on Anna Maria Island, it steps away from the beach and it has a great pool. Maree and Dave run it brilliantly and do everything to make your stay great, really genuine people keen to make your holiday. It's very clean and comfortable. It was our second stay with them and we'll be back. Go on, book it, you won't be sorry !

We had a wonderful week at Pirates Den. It´s a very nice and clean house. Heated Pool, perfect beach - a quiet place to relax. Maree and Dave are helpful and very kind. We enjoyed our time their and look forward for a second.
