Conch Key Cottages, Marathon

We just returned from a wonderful week at Conch Key Cottages! We came down with several other families for a fantastic vacation. Each family was able to have a cottage to themselves, which was fantastic! The kids were able to roam the island freely and enjoyed the pool, private beach and even the sea kayaks for the older kids. The rooms were exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The marina lounging area was just right for relaxing after a day on the boat. The marina was sheltered from the wind and waves and easily accommodated our party's several boats. Breakfast was delivered every morning and we especially enjoyed the fresh oranges to squeeze! The front desk, housekeeping and maintenance staff went above and beyond to take care of our large group. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone, but especially multiple family parties who look forward to spending time with friends without getting underfoot!

I am a travel professional, and I can tell you we loved this place enough when passing to change plans, and then to change plans again to arrange to stay an extra day. Missed some other great things, more hassle, but so worth it. Nice location. Great rooms (we got a tour of all of them on a slow season day). A sense of being isolated in a heavily touristed area. Nice little beach. Nice little pool. None of the odd negative comments that had us worried seemed to apply. Patty is a wonderful manager, 8 months here do disregard older reviews, unable by nature to do anything but be pleasant and provide good service. We went to Key West due to reputation, but came here to spend our last days having something more peaceful, more pristine, more romantic, more personal (not endless hotel rooms for the masses, but a place with character). Rooms, beds, internet and TV (many options, despite one review) all fine. Nice little pool, cool small beach. For a small island, this is great. This will never be a massive resort with a giant pool, and those looking for that might go elsewhere. Me, I think this is at the top end of what might be offered on such a unique spot. Why do I mention the other reviews? I almost let a few of them, with their less glowing comments, influence me. I now feel I have to weed out a certain percentage of all reviews, especially dated ones. Do yourself a favor, check this place out on the way TOWARDS Key West, not the way back. And don't dare book only one night! You will kick yourself for what you miss!!

I have stayed in conch key cottages fo over 25 years and much has changed, however the reason for staying here has never changed. Relaxation at it"s finest, if all you want is excitement don't stay here. This is old time Florida keys at it's best, Dade county pine and old fashioned Florida style. Nothing fancy here just nice clean Florida Keys relaxation near everything .Great sunsets with a touch of piece and quiet! If excitement is what you seek go some where else.
