Kaupoa Beach Camp, Maunaloa

Located on the West Shore on a marvelous white sand beach, this camp consists of double unit hales, which are bungalow-like tents perched on wooden platforms. The "tentalows," connected by a spacious wood deck, accommodate five people and are set up for families. One unit has a queen bed, the other tent contains twin beds and a rollaway cot. All units share a bathroom. Solar-powered lights and fans, a composting toilet, hot shower and maid service make this a comfortable but unique experience. Each unit also has a 12-volt cigarette lighter adapter for connecting a lap top computer. The complex features an open-air dining pavilion where meals are served. The beach is just steps away, and in addition to swimming and sunbathing, guests may choose from a variety of special activities including whale-watching in season, a two-hour cultural hike of the area and ocean rafting and snorkeling.
