Minto Guest House, Edinburgh

Minto guest house is a poor excuse for a B & B and an enbarrassment to the hospitality industry. Not only are the rooms filthy but many essential items in the rooms don't even work. In ours the bedside lamp, the TV and a bed that sagged so badly in the middle it was like sleeping on a blamange. When we arrived we asked if some simple dietry requirements could be looked after but were told this wasn't possible (all we asked for was a boiled egg!). We decided not to have breakfast because of this and because the cleanliness of the rooms didn't inspire us to eat there but, were told we wouldn't get any money back - not even a few pounds. It makes fawlty towers look like The Ritz - needless to say I wouldn't recommend it. Minto street however is a great place for access to the city centre and seems to have plenty of others to choose from. Choose any but this!
