Hotel Falken, Lucerne

Having booked the room two months in advance, we were then turned away on arrival at the hotel because another guest decided to stay on. If that's how the booking system works then I advise you not to book this hotel. You might need to stay in a Jail (called Jail Hotel - not even star rated) for the night which is where he sent our group (two of which were elderly). He expected us to accept this and he made no apology or attempt to accommodate us in a similar standard hotel. We ended up spending three hours looking for a room, eventually getting a room by 11pm. By this time most restaurants were closed and we had to pay a lot extra. If it wasn't bad enough the hotel asked us to pay for the night's stay because we apparently hadn't turned up! It should be noted it took us an hour to find the hotel because it is situated on a no-vehicle zone and on an alley.
