People who appreciate home atmosphere, friendly, always ready to help staf, will like us. Also single travellers who need support or simply need to talk to somebody in a foreign country will be satisfied here. Our hostel has a special energy:). And we give you an info you might not find in your guide book.We have a good location - centre of Krakw close to Central Railway Station (a direct train to Balice Airport), and International and Central Bus Station (1 minute by foot), and 10 minutes by foot to the Old Town. Most of our beds are double - big size beds with double or single covers-you can choose. We have a lot of leaflets about city attractions and unique places in our magic city advising: what to see (famous and not discovered yet monuments), where to find the best Cracow-style restaurants (and the best Polish food), cafes, bars, clubs, galeries. We advise you where to go on one-day trips around our city-castels, caves, monasteries, picturesque places. The hostel is situated in a very lively neighbourhood during the day and peaceful at night. In the street there are: cheap coffee shops, bars with Polish food, mini-market open every day 6.00-23.00, pizzerias, shops, change money point and cashpoints. Just visit us and you will be delighted!
This place has such a personal feel, is clean with a good location, and the owners are truly a joy to meet and spend time with. The place is small, and while the outside does not give away the treasure inside, it is very comfortable and quiet. It is truly my favorite hostel in Europe!!
It was central to Kracow, but this place was terrible. Up on the 2nd floor, ok, but the stairway was like entering into a prison. The staff were friendly, the rooms were awfull. Ive never stayed in a hostel before and never again. This was an experience never to forget. We stayed for 3 nights, the beds were clean but we just got up in the morning and went out for the day and didnt return until we were going to bed. I read some good reviews on this hostel before we went and people were so pleased with it. I would just like to know where these people have stayed before. My suggestion is if your going to Kracow stay in Hotel Saski, not a hostel please.
Unfortunately DJ hostel was a huge disappointment when we stayed there (August 06). Yes, all staff members were very friendly. However, the entire street in front of the building was a massive construction site and the noise made it impossible to sleep longer than 7:30h every single day (including Sundays). None of the staff members told us about this before we arrived. Neither did they tell us about the planned power cut one day, so that everyone had to take a cold shower in complete darkness. There was no toilet paper for more than a day. And finally, be aware that there is a computer in the hostel, but most of the time it is impossible to use the internet because it is incredibly slow.
Krakow itself is a fantastic city, but we cannot recommend this hostel at all. Sorry!
