Richmond Guest House, Wellington

I had a lovely couple of nights here, nice quiet location, lovely room with own bathroom, free wifi. staff were very helpful, great local to Courtney Place and all the entertainment, yes i was very impressed

Very nice, had great fun and this place I ended up luckily was awesome, the owner is out of a some move --mostly psychological thriller with good ending :-) lots of beautiful beautiful porcelain figurines if you have appreciated for that kind a art form. Very close to the city, mt vic lookout which one must visit. Place is clean, very cozy and characteristic. Great value and good times. Please keep in mind as well that it's not 5 star as some seem to expect its' probably 2 or 3 star , but it has great vintage charm newly redecorated interior, nicely furnished rooms with there own ensuites,very clean and very helpful staff and great location

OK' so some of you people think that johnboy is a hard a'' well if i was the chain smoker who stank he place out , or got up at 5 am to make breakfast ( not 7am as reported in the tripe adviser ) and managed to wake everyone including myself up or came in late one cold night leaving the front door wide open completely oblivous to the security and wellbeing of the other guests, then yes i would probably think that he was a hard a'' but as i am a well traveled person having travelled around the world several times and on my sixth visit to little old NZ' and consider myself a considerate person sensitive to the well being of others , then i dont' think that john is anything but a great host who puts the needs of his guests first.' cheers big man''

My return visit to the Richmond Guest House was a wonderful experience it was all that I expected and more. Just renovated so everything looked new. Beautiful clean room with awesome ceilings, very convenient address for walking to the city, very friendly staff. I was very pleased.

Had a bit of a shock when first met at the front door , Had heard from a friend who had stayed previous that john had been caught in a fire there and had taken a battering , pity has a great personality behind it all . does a b' good job though,I felt right at home real nice room great bed own bathroom with plenty of hot water again as with other reviewer I spent hours on free wireless internet catching up with friends I stayed there three nights and overall i was very impressed with everything although i havint' been in a situation with someone with johns problem before but he is a really beautiful person and i wish him well , God Bless

Stayed a few nights before christmas,real cool made me and the wife very comfortable extra clean, good bed with own bathroom, and free internet access , and only $80 for the two of us per night with breakfast and just a short stroll into the city , a real pleasure to stay there

Nice place, had all the comforts I needed after a few weeks camping in the bush: my own bathroom, kitchen, laundry, phone, tv lounge, free internet, free tea&coffee... brilliant! Clean rooms, good continental breakfast, nice staff, walking distance to the city.. what more can you want?! John is a brilliant host with a special (well.. British) sense of humour, that probably not everyone can understand but I had a great laugh with him.
