Looking for a friendly and funny place?
We spent 3 night at Lucky Lake Hotestl from 23rd till 26th September 2006.
Getting there from the Airport by public transportation is quite easy.
First take a train from Schipol Airport to Station Duivendrecht. Here get on Metro 54 and go to Station Holendrecht. (Soccer fans! During your way you pass by the Ajax Stadium. It's worth to visit it once!) When you get to Holendrecht, leave the station throuh the South Exit and call Lucky Lake. Their shuttle will be there within 5-6 minutes and gives you a free lift to the hostel. You could also take bus 126, but first time I think it's worth to take the free car. Later you can also ask the staff to give you a lift to/from the station for 2 Eur/person. (It is cheaper if you by ticket on the bus).
Lucky Lake Hostel is situated in a cal, nice area next to a beautiful lake. Your room is actually a caravan. It might look small, but inside it has absolutelly enough space for everything. very friendly and clean. You can feel yourself very comfortable. The Hostel has very clean and nice shared bathroom. The staff is the most friendly and helpful I have ever met.
Breakfast is not included, but you can buy snacks at the reception. Internet is also available (it's not free, but has very reasonable price).
The whole place is very friendly and funny. You have the chance to rent different tools (Bike, Cayak etc.)You have the chance to spent great time at Lucky Lake and also to visit Amsterdam downtown in an easy way. The metro takes you there less the 20 minutes.
All in all, we suggest everyone to visit Lucky Lake. It is not a 5 star hotel, but I had one my best time ever there.
